laws for plant counts

If you get caught with more than 6 with an extended plant count rec you had better have some pretty serious health issues or you will be charged. DA's know that docs hand out those extended recs like candy and they know people can pay extra for them. They are not going to let you slide growing 30 plants cause of a stubbed toe.
You sound like you speak from experience.

My experience is having had the sheriff's dept narcotics unit in my grow & they had no issues with my 70+ trees, red cards of residents tallied 129 so it was a non issue.

Don't forget there is a city ordinance, and a state law and a federal law involved. Federal says it's all a no go. State and city have different opinion. Lot would depend on what agency you were confronted with.

Authorities don't like to waste time and money unless they are sure to convict. Most DA's won't touch a red card case unless there is some violation like over count, distribution, firearms, kids access..

Law says it has to be in a "locked enclosure" for any growing to take place. Outdoor grow larger than 12 would need a license of sorts, refer to the CO mm site for license regs. Over 100 plants will get you busted. My Dr gave me a recommendation for 24 but warned again that "6" is what is allowed, and only 8 oz of dried is allowed with those 24 plants. If your a caregiver you are only allowed max of 30 plants. Or 5 people you are growing for (including self). You should get your MM license as it might offer some protection. Most people I know are trying to stick with the regs. All I know is you can give your recommendation to a mm dispensary besides growing for yourself. REmember only half of the amount (allowed) grown must be in veg state and the other half in flower. Good Luck!
Yep, don't do it outside. Gotta beware the odd cold snap before harvest if you do, too. State constitution also says you can store all the weed you grow. Trumps some measly 8oz medical rule, it seems to me.

Definitely listen to the local rules. Bastards is still crazy enough to mess with your plants.
Here you go buddy.

"(b) POSSESSING, GROWING, PROCESSING, OR TRANSPORTING NO MORE THAN SIX MARIJUANA PLANTS, WITH THREE OR FEWER BEING MATURE, FLOWERING PLANTS, AND POSSESSION OF THE MARIJUANA PRODUCED BY THE PLANTS ON THE PREMISES WHERE THE PLANTS WERE GROWN, PROVIDED THAT THE GROWING TAKES PLACE IN AN ENCLOSED, LOCKED SPACE, IS NOT CONDUCTED OPENLY OR PUBLICLY, AND IS NOT MADE AVAILABLE FOR SALE."

It's been pretty well laid out but for the sake of clarity.

If you are a med paitent or an adult over 21, and you document your harvest, you can have as much bud from your own legally grown plants as you want.

Also, if you have no children, your front door counts as a locked enclosure or w/e.

The whole 3/3 thing is a lil crazy too bc it specifies 3 vegging and 3 flowering. The 3 flowering alone would make so much more sense, how am I supposed to veg out for sex or propagate for a mother if I'm limited to 3 in veg at a time? lol...

We have two adults, soon to be 3, living in and registered to this address with red cards. I haven't checked into local laws, but I have 6 fem and 1 auto seedlings growing right now. Techinally, because med and rec are seperate, that is 3med veg per person and 3rec veg per person, technically putting me over the limit for two people vegging until that auto starts showing flowers or my step mom moves in next week so she can seek cancer treatment as a Co resident. But do you see how stupid that is? Bc the auto is i veg, techinaly I'm violating state law, but as soon as that mofo starts to bud, magically its legal bc I have no others flowering. We also have 12 and 36 plant counts, sort of putting us legal under med only, but we all know extended plant counts are somewhat of a grey area so ya.

Been on the medical side of things for almost a decade, including dispensary owner, caregiver, and patient. I've known quite a few growers over the years and have known at least half a dozen that have been raided and have heard stories of many others. I knew one guy in Boulder County that was raided with 30 plants with an extended count, didnt get charged but the county also brought the DEA in on the raid and the Feds took his property (house and cash). Knew another guy that had 16 plants in Adams County with an extended count and was charged and last I heard was awaiting trial. My Attorney has also told me there have been many cases of people getting popped with extended licenses and getting charged and accepting plea bargains cause they didnt have the 10-15 thousand in Attorney fees to fight it in court.

None of the raids I know about were ever in the news, apparently its not popular when they do it so they don't brag to the media but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen, especially if there is property/money involved.
