All in all, I will still look up to him for knowledge especially while I am adjusting to the steep learning curve , and as long as he delivers, as i originally stated, then all is well that ends well.

He decided to chime in and that's fine, he didn't have to. I respect his willingness to confront the situation himself that gains much merit in my book. Im not even trying to attack him, you guys made this into a witch hunt.

You should have kept it to yourself until the situation played out.

Special order + build time + other customers = waiting

When I was told the chip I wanted needed to be ordered then built, Kevin at Tasty offered to ship everything he had then two-day the last light engine.

I'm patient, I'd rather him send it all at once than for me to wait on two separate packages.

You made a witch hunt over something that was really nothing, whether you meant to or not.

It is a good thing though, @CobKits showed professionalism and customer service today.

I specifically withheld his name so it wouldn't become a witch hunt.
Did tasty tell you he would ship all on one day then reveal the stipulation AFTER you payed, days later, or was he honest 100% from the start.

My entire point, originally, was that 90% of the people I've ever met can assemble one of these "engines" if they source the parts directly and would save a ton of money and potential hassle. I still stand behind that all the way after this encounter.

I was hoping you'd step on this land mine.

We discussed my goals over private e-mail and I assured him I'd be ordering a certain chip that I wanted to test. He told me in the e-mail it would need to be ordered. When our conversation was coming to a close I had a list together, that we discussed, he told me he could have everything to me in about a week.

I place my order.

I get an e-mail from Kevin, he had to order the chip and he would ship everything he had to me on-schedule and ship the last piece with two-day shipping at his expense.

Hell no.

He offered to make me happy by eating his profit margin (to ship a 7? lb. item 3K miles in two-days) and get me what he could as fast as he could.

This is a problem for both of us, he makes less money, I'm waiting for two packages.

I never expected him to order a chip for some yahoo over e-mail that hasn't placed an order yet.

However, I did expect him to be busy.

You dont get it. I Don't really care about your busy life in regards to my purchase man. I just dont, its none of MY business. So here's the how you should have addressed it, notice how i completely omit all the "blah blah my life" crap and I get right to the point with an answer any customer can readily accept:

Me:
"Hey bud,
How are those puppies doing?
Thanks"

You:
"Been really busy, I'll have then in the mail with tracking by X date"

Me:
"Ok man no problem shit happens, thanks for the info"
I dont want to publically squabble with a customer cause thats a battle that cant be won. i tried to be as transparent as i could be and want to simply make sure people know my side of the story so i dont get a black eye

order- thurs evening
status request- sunday, response (which you posted above but might not be so obvious):

midweek is generally considered tues/weds/thurs so i wasnt planning on getting blasted on weds morning, these were on deck to be assembled tonight

I am confident that if I had not called you out it would be another week before I saw movement.
please note that we already agreed via private message to ship as parts instead of assemblies before i ever even saw this thread, so the callout thread had nothing at all to do with it, it was simply the decision to ship as parts. I even mentioned on sunday if you wanted to change it up that was an option, i shipped the parts within 2 hours of us making the call and they could have been out on monday if we elected to do so.

threw in extras for ya for the misunderstanding, so i hope that you are pleased when you get the parts on friday and we can put this behind us! you seem like a real good guy based on our conversation and i hope you understand there was not any ill-intent from this end. sorry if the updates came off as rude but i try not to mince words and stick to the facts :)

i encourage people to build their own but some people cant/wont tho. i also have 100+ engines built ready to ship (just not in the color you were looking for) so in many cases the extra few bucks per assembly is a no brainer.

ive eaten quite a few "defective" cobs that people burnt up and didnt even know how to use a multimeter when asked. so you cant assume its easy for people without electonics fundamentals.Yes its easy assembly but for many growers hours are big bucks, and of course everything takes longer your first time through. i also take the time to test and inspect every assembly which someone without a benchtop power supply cant do (im sure you have one tho - this will be a cake assembly for you, only 'learning curve' is paste= thin as possible. about 0.1g is plenty for chips that size. )

I also wasn't trying to mince words publicly, I know there was no Ill intent and should have just stayed between us. I didn't want my experience to give you any black eye that's why I never mentioned your name. I could not be happier with your recommendations and I'm sure the results are going to speak for themselves. I vetted every tiny statement you made about the cxm22 vs other options and you could not be more on point for my needs. That's what earned my business. Instant behind that reasoning as well. I'm not am east sell. I dont fall for sales pitches, I come to someome after thoroughly vetting them and throw my money at them like i did with you. I'm pickier than most people as a customer and that's probably due to my severe OCD. What I consider annoying some would agree and some wouldnt. I suppose it depends on your prior experiences.

@CobKits

You've saved face.

There is a wait on special orders and first-come, first-served.

Not everyone understands business, or reads.
I understand you sticking up for him, however the point is way over head. Doesn't matter what a disclaimer on a website says when you negate the disclaimer over the telephone. Please dont say i dont understand business, I'll start showimg off the abundance of licenses and certifications i have, and i feel this thread has been derailed bad enough already. As a matter of fact this is the last time I'm even going to entertain a response to further this coversation.

Patience is a virtue.

If you had to wait a month when quoted a guaranteed week I would understand you making a stink about @CobKits and the business.

Don't think I'm standing up for @CobKits because we are "in-bed-together", I bought from his competitor and we have discussed things in this forum and have yet to see eye-to-eye.

I couldn't say @CobKits and I are friends, I couldn't say we are enemies, I can say I respect the person behind the screen name more today than yesterday.

I'm not going to comment on your personal business licenses, however, there are plenty of people that have licenses that don't know how to do business.

If he had never chimed in, my experience would not have pointed to him. It couldnhave been my own personal experience and reasoning behind my point that sourcing from the manufacturer saves time, money and hassle.

Y'all created a witch hunt out of it, and now you think I'll swallow your pill, but nope i wont.

No pill, brotha.

Just accept you jumped the gun, he might have underestimated, he is popular, lots of people swear by his company, he is trying to make it right and fix the issue for future customers.

That's is customer service 101.

He admitted where he was at fault and he is making changes to that effect.

You should do the same.

We are all adults.

Let's get high and eat everything.

So just to update this, today the 3rd and final package containingn my cobs and parts arrived from CobKits.com

Construction is taking less than 5 minutes per "light engine".

Everything was packaged perfectly I couldn't be happier. Definately glad I chose to assemble on my own and avoid further wait

Yea, apparently another member didn't have as great of an experience with shipping times and a custom build he wanted. Sounded more like a misunderstanding on both sides.

Everyone seems to be happy though.
