LED Grow Room

Really depends on your space. LEDs might not put off alot of heat, but it can still build up in small spaces. What are the dimensions of your grow area?

The LED will build up heat in a grow tent. You will also have humidity and stale air to expel. I HIGHLY recommend some type of extractor at the top of the tent. Those grow huts are made of a material that really holds in moisture and heat. Without a good blower sucking out the humidity and heat you WILL experience stretching, poor yield, poor growth AND you will invite powdery mildew and boitritis.
I have grown plenty of good medicine it grow huts. I have been successful in a 2' 6" X 2' 6" X 6' hydro hut with a 250 watt light but I am glad I had the small 4" blower on the roof!
Good Luck!

Also... A normal room fan will cover the noise of your small blower. Put a fan in the room and turn it on. Any ears will believe they hear the room fan.

i have a similar tent and rig. i keep a small fan inside and a 140 cfm exhaust fan. it was a cheap fix and totally worth it.

I hear the S&P mixed flow fans are pretty quiet, and pull a respectable CFM (100+). A little bit more than the typical fan, but worth looking into if quiet is needed.

EDIT: Not sure of this vendor but prices is great for the S&P fans. http://www.hvacquick.com/products/residential/Bathroom-Ventilation/Remote-Fans-for-Bath/SP-TD-Series-Inline-Fans
This is a great find. They even have two modes, full mode and low mode. So sick! Thanks brother. Going to look into to this more and see where im lead. So the idea of how this would work is I connect a tube into the top or any part of the tent, and ground the flow fan outside of the tent that draws the air out?

another good thing with a small inline duct fan is they will take your small filter real ez... when you bud, you will need a filter cuss that smell may be sweet to many but a red light to cops and crooks both. I seen a 4in filter from led the other day on sale for silly cheap.. enjoy your grow man. ( i just got another 240w from htg today, getting rid of all my cfls now.)

Well, from what I understand there isn't a real discernible difference between the modes according to some who have used them. But they work really well for small cabs to my understanding. Since I decided to go LED (for now) instead of HPS, I wish I had bought one instead of the 4" I have now, sucker is loud at full blast. But I think its more of the rush of air than the fan, it is rated at 160+ cfm.

Most people hook up ventilation fans like this: carbon scrubber --> fan --> exhaust. Since you are going LED, you will not need to cool lights, so 100 cfm or so should work well for that tent. The scrubber should be at the top of the tent, opposite side of the intake hole(s) at the bottom of the tent. Cool air is drawn into the tent from the bottom, air inside is pulled through the scrubber and deodorized, and "clean" air is exhausted out. If you have a way to exhaust the air outside of your home, the better. Otherwise, whatever heat is exhausted will build up in the space you have your tent in if it is small (like a closet). Then you will be pulling warmer air back in.

I found this carbon Scrubber: http://www.amazon.com/Performance-Activated-Scrubber-Control-Prefilter/dp/B004OGUKJC/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1333589628&sr=1-1-catcorr I think this should do the trick. Is this going to work with the SP 100cfm? :). I hadn't even had in mind to get a carbon scrubber, I hadn't known they existed! Thanks Rollitup, and you guys :)

So Brother, do you have a diagram of "The Scrubber should be at the top of the tent, opposite side of the intake Hole(s) at the bottom of the tent?" :) I found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=1lzNYxjufWc

I think ill place the scrubber at the bottom opposite corner of where the fan is blowing nice air then connect the tub from the scrubber to outside from where the exhaust is. I think this is what you were saying to do?

As long as the tent inside stays a nice 74-78 degrees I don't mind if the closet gets a little warm. If I am correct, the warm air will circulate in the closet but not in the tent.

Have a link to the 4 inch filter you saw? And congrats!
