LED light to replace 1000w HPS

I have a 4x4 tent that is 6 ft tall. I have a 1000w HPS in there and yield about 2 lbs.

Which LED light will give me the same yield and quality?

Also, is 6ft high enough or should I upgrade my tent to a 8ft?

My budget is $1,000.

Should I go DIY or buy a commercial one?

The Redwood VS 4x4 is a 600w light.

"POWER:

Total Wattage: 600 W

PAR Wattage: 315 W"

That doesn't look like it can yield 2 lbs alone.

If you can use a screw driver, DIY is the way to go. 2/3 down this page:

https://www.rollitup.org/t/bridgelux-eb-series-on-a-2-x-4-scrog.943414/page-4

is my parts list and description for a strip build for a 2x4 scrog. Once you have the parts, it takes about 1 hour to build each light, and that's between tokes. Put 2 of these together and you'll have a $500 light that'll put close to 50W/sqft of nice, even distribution of photons over your canopy with no hot spots. I went with all 4000k strips because the spectrum looks good for both veg & flower, but you can mix & match as you see fit.

A 6' ceiling should be fine for most anything, but you might have to LST if you're growing sativas.

I'm thinking of a PerfectSunLED light. The model is: The Perfect Sun COB for $995.

Light Specs:
LEDs: Bridgelux - Hi Powered 5w LEDs and Cree COB 50w LEDs
From 24 inches away umols are 1200. 6 feet away a nice 225 umols
Footprint: The light covers 5x5 feet for veg and 4x4 for flower
Power consumption: 675 watts on 110v outlets

The builder claims it can yield 2-2.8 lbs depending on skill.

I don't think you can buy a light (ready made) to replace a 1000watt hps lamp for $1000. I had 3 Platinum lights and did ok, but they didn't have any canopy penetrating ability. I then bought a Spectrum King 400+. It was quite bright, but for whatever reason, my plants didnt seem to like it. It did veg ok, but bloom was nothing spectacular. I have 2 400watt Black Dogs and I love them, but theyre kinda spendy. I do believe a single 600 or 800watt Black Dog Phytomax2 would rock your world.

The problem with LEDs is the information put out by the manufacturer. They are all full of it... except Fluence and Black Dog. There are a million manufacturers out there, im sure there are more good lights than the two mentioned, above. I did very well with the Platinum fixtures.

Your yielding 2 pounds in a 4x4 and you want to change? No ones doing those numbers around here, be careful which direction you go.
Apparently, there's ppl yielding 3lbs in a 4x4 with 800w LED's that output 1200w (PAR).

Those are $1,500 lights; the new Fluence SpydrX Plus.

The cut in electricity cost would be nice.

Instead of paying $1500 for a light.. I'd like to learn how to make my own.

What strain are you running for your 2 pounds? And how much veg time?
