I've had mine just over a year now. I have some pics in a bml journal someone started a while back. I really like this light. Your plants look fantastic. What are they?

Generally speaking, Braman, Apollo is one of the numerous cheaper LED options out there that use chinese parts and while they do sell oftenly, they are rarely a long lasting investment. If you don't want to go full blown COB's because of the price, there are better "cheap" brands, such as Hydrogalaxy/Roleadro (I have two of their 400w COB LED's from Amazon; my plants did see signifcant plant growth increase). But really, you might consider LEC's/CMH's which are similar to regular HID's, but run MUCH cooler, provide a higher spectrum diversity, etc....I would either take this route if you cannot afford full blown COBs like Cree Cobs and such. Not saying Apollo and many other brands won't grow great plants, but for long term longevity...they aren't the silver bullet.

Because, what's the point of using led if they are not better then hps in at least one way. Either efficiency or spectrum. Good LEDs will surpass hps in both as well as coverage.
That will lead to greater yields of higher quality.

You've heard about you get what you pay for...cheap led's are like that-you can grow a decent plant with most but durability and performance are easily enhanced with newer/better technology. It'll work but you can do MUCH better.

The newer, for example, 600w Cree COB LED with CXB(can't remember the #s) chip (you'll see COB CXA Chips in cheap LED's; better but still not nearly as good) versus a, lets say, a Mars 600W LED. In the exact same conditions, the Cree COB will produce a very noticable increase in yield and actually improve potency to some degree. This is because of many reasons, but one being that the COB LED lights have very good penetration; which has always been an issue to some degree in respect to cheap LEDs. There are, one that I know of, one good brand that does not use COB LED's, however it is on the same level of effectiveness and efficiency, called California Lightworks. They have 200w, 400w, 600w, then the big 800 or 1000w (can't remember...) "Solar Flare" model which is a spectacle even among the other high dollar LEDs. I do not know of any other LED brand that uses diodes that actuad lly compares to COB's. Hope some of this info can be of use to someone, if not the OP.

I've heard both good and bad about Amare...idk I guess it's all about what light you compare it too? Hybridway uses Amare LEDs, he's your man on that one!

I'm new to growing but did a lot researching of LED grow lights and finally bought a Viparspectra L450 to use in my 2x2.5x5' Gorilla Shorty Tent. Before I got my grow kicked off though, I decided to break down and spend the money for a Kind K3 450 due to all of the press I had read about it. Long story short, I removed it because it drove the temps in the tent to upper 90's, much too hot. I put the Viparspectra back in and am seeing acceptable temps and plants seem to be doing well. I realize the Viparspectra is a cheap import but it is way better than the high dollar Kind K3 in my opinion. I am still looking for a long term solution because I don't really expect this light to last long, maybe just this grow. I'm realizing there is a lot of hype surrounding these LED lights and you can spend a ton of money and still not get what you need. If you're like me and have a small space you need to question the vendor about heat production in the small area, most are not very forth coming. Buyer beware.

This is another reason that COB LED's are better...they will, generally speaking of course, produce less heat...and yes, most aren't forthcoming at all! Vipar is ok but it's just another cheap "Amazon Brand", as I call them...as you can find all the cheap LED's on Amazon claiming to be hot shit lol....
