Thanks, buddy! But it's not sooo hard with the right tools. I'm sure you could have done that too! I re-used my old selfmade heatsink and the 6 old COB's, removed the reflectors and 10w 420/660nm COB's and added the F- and FS-strips with a second driver. Re-wiring all the old an' new stuff took me the most effort.
At 20" my cheap lux-meter reads out a center peak of ~80.000lx, with C-factor 69 that's 1160μMol/s/m². Corners/sides are ~68.000-73.000lx.
It's actually much too much for a 3sft. area(50w/sft.) but the HLG-60 can be switched off and both drivers are dimmable anyway, so what!?!
Recycling, that's what it's all about.
Far too muh par lol but it's good to have it in reserve. I'm running 1000 u molès across the canopy in full flower.
Just keep buying new leds and run the older ones softer and softer and it's win win on the efficiency

Do they need a new design for free? Finally away from blurples? Or is there some kind of competition? What's the secret behind your post, mate?

According to my knowledage, they just need advertisers. i got one, so i want to tell you and check if you are interested in. you maybe will get one free light and then tell someone how you use it
to grow cannibas.

Never ever, mate! Not even for free!
My first LED was a shitty Mars reflector with no-name 3w diodes(the ugly greenish ones) and were given away after a few weeks(with 3 burned out diodes, BTW). They were 300w units, but only had 180w at the wall. And the results were worse than with hps. Not even 30% efficiency!
99% of all LED users have made the same mistake because the chinese LED mafia lures with false promises. But the reality looks different. No-name drivers and no-name diodes goes hand in hand with insecure wiring... No thanks!
Since the Mars thingies are gone, I use only top-bin brand LED's and to date I get almost 60% efficiency. Thats twice as much bang for the same power consumption. And twice as much yield anyway.
If you really want to take advantage of LED tech, forget about all cheap Mars, Meizu's and what they are all called ... they are just cheap scrap and do not even last a year without damage.

Sorry for your experience, but my led work well almost 6 months. i think i am okay with mars-hydro.

No reason for a sorry, mate! I'm pretty sure you will change your mind.... probably earlier than you think!
Watch a view Quantumboard grows on youtube or read only one QB related thread.
If you take your hobby seriously, you have a new one by the end of the year! ... probably sooner!
Remember my words! It will happen...

Okay, boyz 'n gals! It's time to present my current light cause it's ready to use!
I first thought I should create an own thread but decided against. I can not show any plants anyway so this thread is the best place. If anyone have questions feel free to ask what you want.
It consists of 20x 2ft. F-Series strips/3000°K/CRI80 in 10s2p to one HLG-240H-C1050B and 8x Blux V18c COB's in 3000°K/CRI90 to a HLG-120H-C500B, approximately 400w net., 440w total.View attachment 4111187 View attachment 4111188 View attachment 4111189 View attachment 4111190 View attachment 4111191 View attachment 4111192 View attachment 4111193 View attachment 4111198 Than I've added a 39w UV-A/B reptile T5HO tube and a 730nm Flower-Trigger, consisting of 6x Cree XP-E's on a 5w driver. Main light, UVB tube and flower trigger are all connected via Sonoff timers and controlled via ewelink app. Currently I run some stability tests and if all works as expected I will sell it to a friend who's already waiting.

Nice work man. Umm how much $$$ would you be selling a Beast like this? Do you make these regularly? The UVA bulb is a brilliant idea. What you guys come up with is incredible. I want some UVA IRA whatever the sun omits? Lol

Nope, not regulary! It's more like a hobby with some small profits. All parts of this beast costs me arond 495$ and I'll give it away for 550-600$. But I only do this for friends, unofficially. No business ..
The small one is my own, lol!
But I already have something new in my head. New interesting COB's want to be released this year and I'm sure there will be new mid-power diodes as well.
Samsung's new H-inFlux strips for instance come with LM301B and create +190lm/w(4k/CRI80) at rated current. With half the current it would be over 200...
And the H-inFlux strips will be available as double row strips like F-series.

BTW, it's a UVB-tube for dessert reptiles with 12% UVB and 30% UVA. Lots of vids on youtube about UVB and how to use.
For UVA only one can use LED relatively cheap with enough power. Although there are UVB diodes, they are not strong enough and quite expensive. SemiLED has some powerful UVA's for example the U70's (N3535U-UNL1) or EV-U40A's.

LOL! If so, they will send you the deffective parts and repair you have to do it yourself! This is normal behavior for Mars and all the others... Good luck!

Hey! Trying to build an LED light at 150$, can grow from start to end, everything sourced in EU, as customs here suck. I talked to someone else earlier and he pointed me towards HVGC-100-350A from Pollin.de, and the 3500k Bridgelux Gen 2 series LED strips at around 3.4€ a pop. I thought about it for a while and came up with being able to buy 24 strips (80€) and 2 of those drivers, and make 2 smaller panels that i can just put side by side. This should cover juust around 70x70cm and the driver has an overhead of around 50 volts, 12x19.5=234 / Output = 285. Does it check out? With there being so many options, i was looking for as much input as i can get. Just trying to get the most bang for my buck :) I'm hoping i could maybe grow 3-4 auto's under these 2, is that even realistic? Any advice is welcome! I can't really go beyond the 150 bucks sadly, so so far this setup seems really good for the money. Definetly feels like it should beat a cheapo 600w ebay led, even if those maybe draw some 30-40 watts extra at the wall.

Small Edit : Just wanted to add that i don't need to worry about heatsinking or aluminium as i have that available to me. :) So just as much light as i can possibly get for 150$ in the EU lol.

70x70cm = max 150W

Go with the pollin drivers, they are great (got 6 and the are all over 110W at full power) and the cheapest avaible, but make sure to dim them down, Register for newsletter an get 5€ discount (= your shipping costs).

EB strips are great, but take care, you have to pay the tax in your country (+20% for me) when they hand you the package at the door. Atm the cheapest usable Strips.

No need for heatsinks, just a simple alu frame would be enough, but if you get it for free, use it. The light will perform better.

If you like getting many strips, think about some side/corner lighting.
