LED vs. T5 for Veg - Opinions Wanted

Hey guys, I want some opinions on which of my lights I should use for seedlings/clones/mothers - general vegetative growing.

I have a 432w mixed-spectrum T5 lamp, and I have a 180w (draws ~125-130w) Apollo 4 LED lamp.

My concern centers around coverage and light falloff. I feel like the LED puts out intense light, but in a very small space as opposed to the T5 lamp (which measures roughly 4' x 2'). From my research, I am getting mixed opinions on the grow area this LED will support.

Flowering isn't a concern; I have a 1000w HPS.

Thanks!

If you are feeling adventurous you can take the apollo apart and spread the light out better. There are 2 heatsinks inside. You would have to mount the fans to the heatsinks and maybe relocate the drivers away from the heatsinks. You could even save power bu using only half of the LEDs on each heatsink. That would make the lamp run cooler and you would only be using 70W to VEG. Good luck!

Over a 4x2 area two hans(65w) panels will very effectively veg @ a cost of $500 shipped. 130 total watts and no re-lamping(T5 drop off fast) with years of use under minimal lumen depreciation from the quality mcpcb/emitters. It will pay you back fast!!! and if you ever feel like seeing what leds can do in flower, these panels are also suited for that:)

PSU knows. He owns one

Personally, I would go with the newest A51 which easily covers 2 x 3 ($575)
