im new to all this and im kinda learning more the more I read but just have a general question. after planting a seedling in soil is it safe to give it light right away? I have a l.e.d. light that was given to me from a friend. any feedback would be great. thanks

Oh and yes seedlings need light.

What is the LED light?
brand, watts, colors, etc...

And yes, plants need light or they die. As soon as a seed sprouts the plant will need to transition to creating its own food through photosynthesis...which requires light.

If its a large (high power) led grow light than you may want to start under a CFL for atleast a few days. Seedlings dont always do well when placed directly under an extremely intense light.

The SUN says hi^^^^:hump:....ha.... but your kinda right some high wattage /secondary optic led panels "supposedly" fry seedlings when too close.....bummer
