Use the search button, you'll find a lot of threads on this.

The arguments are endless. They are made for supplemental lighting, but some people are able to grow with them. Just make sure your not buying the cheap $50 LED panels. Look at the UFO light and the higher-priced LEDs

I know most people aren't fans of LED lights and that it is recommended that if you use them you should use them as supplemental lighting but I was wondering, as far as supplemental lighting goes - has anyone used any of those cheap, Wal-mart, flat, stick up LED lights underneath their plants to give light to the underside of the leaves? Does it help or is it just a waste of money? I'd love to hear some input on that idea.

Why would you want to give light to the bottom of the leaves? The leaves breathe through the bottoms, thats why the top parts of the fan leafs always turn towards the light.
