They have to if its part of legalization. Its federal law, which superscedes provincial. What kind of rules theyll apply we'll have to wait and see

I've been out all day, so just read the condensed version of the legislation and some of the reactions on here. Other than little things that need to be changed, it seems pretty reasonable to me. Why the backlash...what did I miss? lol.
You can grow, possess, consume, make shatter or edibles, 'share' with your friends 30g at a time...seems like a win to me. I don't have an issue with raising the penalty for selling to minors. 14 years is the MAXIMUM penalty...say if you sold a kid weed and he drove and killed himself....maybe. Most will get a fine, just like supplying alcohol to minors. Unless someone comes up with an accurate device to measure cannabis impairment, that is going to be a shit show for a while. The easy solution is don't toke and drive...we all (or most of us) learned to not drive after drinking, and the effects of cannabis are relatively short-lived, so it should be easy imo.

To most Cannabis users it's irrelivent. It's not like we are going to be doing anything different. I'm not going to be growing less or smoking less than I was growing when it was illegal. I've never had any issues doing my own thing and legalizing it sure the hell isnt going to slow me down.

It's a good start in the right direction imo. There's going to be some challenges, and that's to be expected. I'm optimistic, it's a good thing not a bad one. Puff puff pass....

Little Johnny's parents better step up and teach their kids what's what in life. Do the crime pay the time. Most little jonnys and parents now a days need a smack up side the head anyways. Welcome to life.

Yeah but it is still 5 years max for other simple things that could easily be broken by mistake, Is it not 14 years for growing? You are not allowed to grow from seed, if caught you face up to 14 years for growing from seed, like wtf??????????

Uhmm...I didn't read anything about 14 years for growing, I read you can grow 4 plants legally. 14 years is the max penalty...if you sold to a kid and he died in a car crash. Check out the max penalties for all our laws and see how often anyone gets near max. Don't sell to kids (or at all) and you'll be fine. I also didn't see anything about growing from seed, how would they know/ enforce? My seeds are my property and I can do with them what I want. Can you link to where you read that?
