Weeds roots grow predominantly down right?? So does the height of the pot matter more then the volume? If i had a tall pot the roots could continue to grow down at will resulting in more growth.? just thinking after smoking :bigjoint:

Sup... just wanted to throw in my 2 cents, yes the bigger the pot the more growth you will get. However, there comes a point where the roots have no more room and as a result will start to grow around the pot forming a large root ball. The roots in turn fight and compete with each other for remaining nutrients in the soil. occasionally, this can cause growth rates to slow. I really recomend using smart pots. They air prune roots which prevent roots from getting to the point that they are competing with each other. This allows the roots to grow healthy and continuously which in turn allows the plants to do the same. The difference of using a smart pot vs a conventional pot is really night and day. Using a 3 gal smart pot is like using a 5 to 7 gal regular pot. No joke. Definitely give it a try. you wont be disappointed. Also, you may need to water more frequently as soil tends to dry out quicker due to the fiberous material of the smart pot.

I think 12/12 perpetual plants do better in smaller pots ( 1gal - 3ga ). Just my opinion, obviously 3gal being preferable. But I've seen some 12/12 perpetual grows by people on here using 1gal pots under a 150W HPS, and I have to seriously give props to those people for small-pot growth.

I never seen anyone use those kinda pots or inner pot coatings... it may be interesting to do a side by side comparision. Thanks for the info. i might check this out. Im always looking for new things to try.

Does anyone have any experience using these? How have they worked out for you?

Damn 808! I been reading through threads for a while and never knew what the smart pots where for lol. . . I might invest in some of these, are the good for autos?

Well im doing my first auto grow right now. But i have used than for regular grows with amazing results... there was a very big difference from my regular potted plants. dont think it will be any different for autos. Earlier I saw some grow journals with autos grown in smart pots. They seemed to work great.... they run about 4 bucks and u can reuse them.

Oh just another note.... smart pots are usable in a hydro set up as well. They work great for drips and ebb n flows...

i wouldnt use the inner pot coatings. i think its copper and it will go into your plants. may make your buds unsafe to smokee

Bullshit..it is in the latex bond...if it got into the plant you would know due to copper toxicity symptoms in the plant...that is why the plants PRUNE their roots to avoid the copper...read up on botany and know how plants work before you spout off things that demonstrate your lack of knowledge

been doing the coating for years and it works and does NOTHING to harm the plants product nor the smoker
