I've just started covering my light dep everyday at 6pm but the days are slowly getting longer with each passing day so do I continue to cover them at 6pm for 9 weeks or do I slowly cover the greenhouse a few minutes earlier every few days to adjust for the days getting long ya dig??:eyesmoke::shock::peace:

I dnt get light deps, just so much more work than needed, for buds a month or so early, get yourself some getaway strains. If getaway keeps with it ( which Im sure he will) and his seed spread across the land, light depos will be a thing of the past. Only way Id do it is if I had a fully automatic cover i could put on a timer.

While that may be fine fore some, Id rather have a staggered regular season that'd give me more than enough bud. I did on light dep once and stuggled severely with mold in the humid july days, and the plants certainly wont do as good as the ones left out. And all that work covering and u covering, not to mention when you cover, its basically a mold factory, building heat/humidity with no airflow. Just not worth it imo, I'd rather put more effort/plants into the regular season. I see no reason to produce the extra bit, for 4 times the effort

By the time the full season outdoor plants are finished in the fall the price has dropped by 50%. An Early harvest, (light dep) will get you a much better price....grow less=make more money

I'm doing my first light dep this year, and I was told not to leave them covered overnight. So the cover goes on at 6pm and comes off at 10pm, they are only enclosed for a few hours. Also, I think it helps if you put a moisture barrier over the ground.

Fall where I live comes in fast, cold, wet, and windy. To avoid ALL of that, all I need is to be done by very early in September. There are strains that can finish early, and I could grow random plants just because they flower quickly. Or, I can choose the strains my patient prefers (high THC Sativa-dominant hybrids), and control things so that they actually mature and finish, and do so under strong August sun. At least that's the theory.
