i found a nice ol seed in this really really really dank sack my friend had, i looked up some stuff on line and saw that lighter greenish seeds are seeds that didnt fully mature and that theres no chance in germinating it? im not planning on starting it up anytime soon currently knocking out the first grow but any insight to if this seed would even germ? i added pics of the seed as well as the weed it came from.

that looks good to me.
i would put it in the fridge for a month,or even two, then let it sit out for a month, before i germed it.
if that came from this years harvest, it needs a hardening off to get ready for spring. in nature they lay on the ground through the winter, if they don't get that cold period, i have a lot of trouble getting them to pop

the green is normal, just a film from a healthy seed pod.

I've read the same thing about beans needing to be winterized, but I've always wondered how it works in equatorial areas that dont go below 70f/50rh.

C3 annual seeds do not require cold stratification to become viable. Just a proper dry. Thats one of the reasons they produce so many seeds. Many are killed during the cold stratification period. Survival of the fittest means a better chance the species survives. I would just store the seed/seeds in a small jar with some dry rice in a cool dark place until you need them.

That seed looks fine. I'm always having to chop some early, so I have planted lots of white seeds over the years, just to see what they would do. You would be amazed at the number of white seeds that will come up and grow a fine plant. When I cull seeds, if it doesn't pop with a halfway hard squeeze, I just toss it back in the pile.
