I see on instructions that you need to install rail to furring strip. My ceiling is 3/4" plywood do I still need this furring strip? I am thinking that the reason for the furring strip would be to be able fastened to the joists. Can I just screw the rail to the plywood or does it need the furring strip. thanks for any help.
