Light Quantity vs Light Quality Evidence ... Just for 4 u gg lol!

Do you think quantity is more important than quality

Thanks. But of course I'm not learning anything.
I pissed around the web for a month trying to figure out what I was going to buy for lights and changed my mind a bunch of times.

You are one of the posters that convinced me to go with cobs.

Thank you. I don't regret that decision at all. Thanks for learning it for me.

Funny thing though, at some point leds will get too efficient and, unless you live somewhere very warm, you will need to add a heater to reach the required temperature in the grow room. Which defeats the purpose of increasing efficiency to some extent.

In actual led vs HPS test grows done by universities, this problem was already apparent with current generation leds (2.3umol/s/J) in green houses.
Well one thing to consider is using lighting (resistance heating pretty much) isn't the most efficient way of generating heat. Yes baseboard heaters and electric furnaces are cheap but they are sure costly to run vs a heat pump. So the heating will become just like the lighting.... Pay more now to save more later or vice versa.....

Nice cherry picked picture. Let's see some more.

Wonderful stressed plants already burning. And very underdeveloped and scarce foliage. Months of veg? I go 6 weeks max from seed. Show the full rack burned to death pic you are proud of. This is the only even greenish pic I have seen. And I have seen all you have posted. I joined the other site to learn. Lol. Fortunately some there are much better than you.

But at least you have tons of light. Looks very efficient. Lol

My whole room only has 1515 watts of HID now and I have been pulling about 550 grams out of top shelf meds per month with only the 2 600's and some 2 ft. t-5 veg lamps. The 315 is brand new. So 1200 watts flowering and 2oo watts approx. veg were all I was using. I added a few tubes to veg when I added the 3rd lamp.

That is 2 light bulbs total in flower for these results. Took some practice and a lot of reading.

It costs less than $100 per month in electricity and off sets my heating propane bill $500 per year. You have virtually no idea what you are doing after 30 years it seems.

I have been gardening for a total of 3 years.

And I never even watered a house plant before this.

And what I am showing below is mostly from seed and all different strains in 2.4 gallon pots with only a natural base grow nute added ever.

This is a home medical grow. It is run as efficient and inexpensive as possible. It has to be. We can't fuck around with toys and hobbies. We need real medicine. You can learn to do what you see here with any standard grow guide. I like Ed Rosenthal's book best. that's where I learned to set up this perpetual garden.

I am no expert. I only offer advice if I know. Shame you can't say that Tty. But you say a lot. And show dick. And only talk about your quality but never show a close up bud.

The below pics are after I installed the 315 LEC. I ran 8 plants about 2'x2' trained to size for the results I posted above.

The LEC is not as good as the only light source because of footprint and penetration as the 600 HPS. But together they are doing better.

And here is a plant we harvested last week. And I can show continual results and you know it.

image.png

And here is the prized "Frosty Pheno Headband" from your other website. just to show I can grow any decent genetics in my garden and get great results every time. You know I prefer different genetics. This is the first seed of this strain I germinated.

And it has only been under HPS.

image.png

But you Ttystick are the forum expert over there so prove me wrong with your experienced results. Every pic above is current from the last week.

Better New Year To Ya

I suggest you start with the basics and stop pretending to "help" people.

Sorry for the long post everyone. I am pretty much still tripping on Mrs. Medical Growers coconut oil made from our garden.

HAPPY NEW YEAR RIU!

There you go with your research, I will do you one better because I have Actually witnessed it in Actual grows.
So what? I have had bleaching too. Using HPS even. One top grew way too close to the bulb and presto the tip turned white.
Albino_HPS.jpg

I increased the distance between plant and top and the top (sort of) went back to normal development.

Just knock it off with the made up "science". An MJ site going for click bait articles is not a source for science let alone "facts". This has NOTHING to do with genetics variations. People get these bleached tops under burple lights all the time.

If anything it probably started as an April fools joke. Unfortunately there are always fools falling for it and think it's actually something and keep repeating the joke thinking it's "fact".

Yeah could be. In that green house test they used 25W per square meter of IR lighting to compensate.

Still, it does to some extent counter the increasing drive for efficiency.

Agreed, sez the owner of a dual circuit heat pump.

And insulation saves money winter and summer.

Hey Tty. You have a great point about insulation and my bills so please come and show me how to insulate my 100 year old open basement cabin in the woods well enough to show a return for less than the extra savings say for 10 years.

I don't plan to be here that long but you would still have me thousands of dollars in the hole.

And when you are done costing me all that money with your awesome commercial grow knowledge will you buy me the $2000 or so of LED lights to replace my horribly inneficient HPS Lights that SAVE me about $500 a year in heating costs.

When you have no practical knowledge to offer you should STFU. ;-)

But instead you are slinging your "knowledge" in a different led thread as I write.

You should find a new hobby instead of mis directing newbs who refuse to do proper research.

Shame on you. You are not an experienced grower you are an experienced internet poster.

I use discarded styrofoam boxes and any other styrofoam thrown away, you can use the foam in cushions from chairs or beds being thrown out too. Blow in insulation isn't too bad in price.

Do you want to rebuild my whole house to get insulation in the 100 year old walls and roof?

and sticking foam in the walls even if it didn't mean I have to tear down my whole house would be a lesser option.

And about rigid foam insulation. Doesn't really insulate anything without a proper vapor barrier.

Which means I lose space in my tiny rooms.

He whole point I am trying to make with tty is that there is so much to be considered and he doesn't even know what to consider.

And when someone makes a valid point he argues it with and for no reason but to keep talking.

Not up for an argument, but my house is over 100 yrs old and I insulated it for practically nothing.
The wiring was originally knob and tube and had 10ft ceilings, had to crawl between ceilings, fun times! lol

4ft "double bubble wrap" by the roll...we have a 150 yr old farm house..staple it to something..even if you have to get cheap wood strapping..if has served me well in cold uninsulated outbuildings .45 n lat .fast erection fast teardown can take it with you
can make little mini rooms within rooms..
.you can do it all in a couple of hrs ..its awesome stuff

Didn't mean to argue. But you obviously have an idea what I could be dealing with. Mine has been added to by home owners twice in its life.

I may have insulation blown into the attic but I have only been here 18 months and plan to sell in 2 more years or so.

And my bills are pretty small with my system. I deal with no excessive electric bills at all. Just have to get the room ventilation right mostly.

I appreciate your point of view.

anyway you are smart i am sure you have looked at everything
maybe lay off the oil a bit we kinda like tty
all the best with it..you can do it all in a couple of hrs ..its awesome stuff
I find aluminum coated bubble wrap from a local pet store, they save it for me, it is equivalent to the high dollar reflectix they sell at the home depot. Use it for reflective walls too, It the bubbles ensure no hot spots.

I never asked about insulation. My house and rooms are fine. But these cheap options aren't going to make enough of a difference for my situation to even bother considering.

Which was the original point I was making. Running my 1500 w room and 400 watts in veg room next door offsets my bills way more than enough to have me not tear into my old house. I would only fix it right.

But great idea for a shed/ greenhouse I have been thinking about for the woods outside.

It's CH9 Blue Lemon Thai. She is the most potent one I have grown so far. She is diesel leaning. Gets you super high for hours. She has cured into a strong fuel with a light berry hint. Not exactly smooth after a few weeks but pretty delicious and potent.
