Light schedule interruption.

Right chaps, and chappesses... i am 2&half weeks into flower and I hope I get a prompt response here, even just to ease ones horror at arriving home and discovering, after being away for a night and leaving the grow room on its tod as I often do, that in my haste getting going the tent door was left ajar about 10" which usually is ok to help ventilation. However this time I left the regular energy saving light on in the room where the tent is, so when the hps light in the tent went off, for its 12 hrs of night, the light from the regular room light was sneaking in the tent, albeit directly shining only partially on 1 plant closest to the door it was, the other 3 seemed untouched by the light, directly anyway! Ths was the case for over 11 of the 12 hours dark period. So iv been digging around getting different opinions that are fairly vague in terms of a definitive answer there's seems to be none. I understand that and my gut feeling is that it's gonna be ok and that this mishap as undesirable as it was should not affect things in any kind of catastrophic way (hermi, back to veg). I know there is nothing can be done anyhow about this event other than hope it continues on all right.
So I'm wondering if any of yous fellas have had a similar experience and how things turned out. Thanks.

Cheers yeah il do that mac. A dilema I have, is it worth having the temps at around 31 C to use a 600w HPS or at controllable temps with a 400w. Ye know do the benefits of the 600 make it worth while I'm wondering ? It's getting pretty hot with the 600 like...

I have an adjustable ballast 300,450,600. I would like to run it at 600 but I can't keep it cool enough in my tent, so I run it at 450. Work's good for my 3x3 tent.

Well as the temps have gone up outside the 600 was just too much 32+ C at least so dropped it too 400 and it's better and manageable. My gut instinct is that they would prefer the 400 and all round conditions to be sound. Think I will keep away from these summer months from now on, reckon iv learnt that lesson at least.

Yeah mejinc it feels right to do that. I was dimming the 600 down to 400 to keep the heat down and then back up as it gets cooler at night. Anyway iv read it may mess with your light spectrum though nothing definite, guys were saying they always do it ? It is much more convenient, but as the temps have gone up outside for a while iv put the 400 bulb in. Iv always used a 600 all the way before even with high temps, always got around a pound, give or take, I hope using a 400 doesn't make a major difference to the final yeild ? Any thoughts on that anyone ?
