lighting help

well im currently have two plants growing, one white satin and one hash berry... they are doin and lookin pretty good... i am going to start flowering soon and i have one 250w HPS that i plan to use... my grow space is pretty small probably like 3x3x6...i was wondering if that is too much or to little light...also during flowering do you keep the light really close to the plant as you would in veg...one more thing is i bought a humidifier but havent used it...how important is it to use a humidifier...any help is appreciated..thanks in advance

It's definitely not too much light. Just fine, in fact. The main concern is that it might get too hot in your space. You'll have to do a dry run to find out for sure. You want to keep the temp at or below 80. Using a humidifier is only important if your relative humidity is low. Ideal is 40-50%. If it falls below 20-30, it's time for a humidifier.

thanks for the advice...do you need to keep the light close to the plant during flowering as you would veg....and also where can i pick up somethin to read humidity??

Yeah, keep the light as close as you can without burning the tops. Check the heat with your hand. If it's too hot for your hand, you can bet it's too hot for plants. What you're looking for is a hygrometer, or a combo unit that reads temp and humidity(thermo-hygrometer). I wouldn't be surprised if Walmart carries them, or maybe Home Depot. I bought mine from a hydro shop.

I got a combo at Wallmart that tracks temp & humidity and keeps track of the high and low of each over that last 24 hours and it was $7.00. Big numbers so it easy to read and it runs on batteries. I have been running mine for about 9 months on the first set of batteries still.
