Lights For Auto Grows?

I've read most of the threads in the new auto-flower section now, and I can't help but notice that most of the auto grows I'm seeing are done with either t5's or 400w H.I.D.

My question is: Has anybody ran auto's under more intense lighting? With CO2? I'm seeing 20-35g's per lady is a good average for other people running autos... I need to hear from people with more ideal conditions on how their yields and quality was. Please put your input here. I'm a very thoughtful grower, and I like to know what I'm working with. Thank you in advance.

I'm currently bringing through my very first run of autos after only doing photos. In my room I have three 1000w cropmaster ballasts, blockbuster 6" air cooled hoods, and 1000w Ultrasun HPS bulbs along with a 4 foot 8 tube HO T5. I have a 10'x10' room covered in panda wrap, and am using RO water for everything and will be running a 20lb CO2 with a regulator and quality monitor (hand held from Titan Controllers) once the seedlings are a little bigger and it makes more sense to me. I'm starting them in party cups under a 4 foot 6 tube HO T5 until they are established enough for me to feel comfortable transplanting them. I'm going to do 1 gal, 2 gal, and 3 gal pots with two inches of hydrotron on the bottom and the rest Pro Mix Hp. Drain to waste. Advanced nutes for some. Roots for the rest. (I want to see the results of the different pot sizes, and the two brands of nutes. In the past I was always a little too strapped to test any full lines of products and container type and size was always about availability.) I have five Fast Buds, three Sagarmatha Solo Ryders, and a Double Diesel Ryder all already seedlings right now. About to pop four more DDR's and five more FB's. I'll post pics later, and show progress through out the grow.

i would expect close to .5 - .75G / Watt of light, maybe more with the co2 enrichment, and environmental controls. Im pulling 28 - 56G's a plant, and averaging around ~36 /w a measly 400W of HID, 50W of UVB, and independently vented light, and room, from outside air.

Thanks for the advice sixteen. I read your posts about the pot sizes too. That was also helpful.

Yeah ThatGuy I knew there had to be, I just haven't seen any journals or threads in the auto section yet, and haven't had enough time to dig through all the old forums yet.

I was talking to orangepeel and dragonpuff yesterday, and think I'm going to use a couple uvb bulbs this time too. Popped more beans going to update with pics when things get going more.

I am currently using 6-600 watters, two with MH bulbs and four with HPS bulbs, but my my ballasts are turned down to 75%. Only at the start will let you know how it goes, finger crossed.

UVB has an amazing effect on marijuana. The second you start running the lights, you will get nervous as fuck, cause you will notice yellowing, and some small necrosis on the solar and fan leaves.

This happens because..... UVB is really bad for the plant. Marijuana secretes and produces THC with in the resin gland, to protect itself from the UVB rays

Basically this makes the bitches cover themselves in trich's... IT IS SO AMAZING

I ease into UVB, starting with 1 hour mid light cycle, a week after first signs of sex, and i bump it up 1 hour a week untill the plant is done, or i am at 5 hours of UVB per cycle.

Thanks for the advice. I saw pics in the uvb thread where they yellowed like you're saying at first. I think I'm going to start them off farther away and build up to having them where I want them. Don't want to stress the babies because autos have such a short life span. I know how much of an effect it has because I made sure my outdoor was protected from the rain and what not, but it still got all that uvb and that crop had the most trichs I've ever seen. I'm excited to see how things turn out. Transplanted the first set of seedlings last night. Planting the new seeds directly into their final pots tonight. Should finally get pics up tomorrow, would have taken some last night but knew I wouldn't have time to post them anyways since I work mornings.

Sounds good Round. Keep us updated on how it's going. 6 less intense lights would have covered my room a lot better. Later I'm going to put two more 1000's in though. Figured I'd just rotate them for now to make sure they get equal amounts of light.

super sativa.jpgA sweet caramel dream.jpgI use 130-150w of led output per auto and regularly pull 1.5 oz an average, sometimes more than 2 oz. One panel dedicated to each plant.
