Hello,
I have a 1000W HPS ballasted fixture. I bought a metal halide lamp called a 1000W convertible for use in HPS fixture and it should be arriving soon.
However, I was looking at Grow Light on wikipedia and I saw that under conversion bulb it says
"To change between the lamps, only the bulb needs changing and a switch needs to be set to the appropriate setting."
Well my ballast definitely has no switch since I wired it myself. Its built for a 1000W HPS and I really hope that the MH will just work in it, is that what is meant by convertible lamp or is some sort of 'switchable' ballast required even for a convertible bulb.
The bulb is "This bulb is a Metal Halide that runs on a HPS Ballast (S52 Ballast)." Is S52 a normal HPS ballast, without some sort of switch?
