Limited Space - Shorter Plants - Same Produce?

My question is how can I have plants lower to the ground/pot and still have a successful grow? I have very limited space, as I'm already having to keep this a major hidden op.

1) keep lights as low as possible as soon as they sprout. this minimizes stretching.
2) Topping is a method you can use to keep plants shorter and bushier. Do a search and you'll find it.
3) Grow an Indica or dominant Indica hybrid. Indicas generally grow shorter than sativas.

Those are the methods I know of. Hope this helps.

cool; thanks ppl. i checked out the scrog method, and that seems like my best bet. would it be possible to use just one florescent light for one plant?

i checked the light just now, and i'm swearing that its 32 watts is wrong... but that is what it says... so I just don't want to accept it. even if i kept it with a 24hr to an 18/6 and finished with 12/12... IS IT POSSIBLE!?

fuzz anything is possible if you read my journal you would see that I started with a flora bulb for plants then moved to one 23w/100w output, then to two, then to three I think my plant is a good example on what you can do with a few lights....but I have to tell you my girl is bushy and thick because I kept those lights on her until she showed me signs of being to much then I would back it up...

i did read your GJ, and i like the rolling cart idea; it seems so simply easy! what effect does a flora light have on the ladies? and do they sell them at walmart?

Fuzz, here is the deal, your plants will stretch with that little 13w/32w equiv. because it is not enough light, period. You will not be able to keep them short as your plants think they are in the shade, because of the little amount of light that you are giving them. This will cause your plants to try to get tall. They get tall when they receive little light because usually in nature plants that receive little light are shaded by taller plants, so through evolution the plant thinks in low lights if it puts all it's energy into the stem making it longer that soon they will receive full light from out growing the surrounding plants.
This is the reason why everyone stresses about the importance of adequate lighting.
