i have a plant in a waterfarm pot...

I noticed a few knats here and there throughout the vegging process but now that ive turned the lights to 12/12, the plant has stopped growing and all the leafs are dying off...
Today when i went to change the water in the waterfarm i noticed that there was alot of the knats in the roots...
I also noticed that the plant has not beern drinking any water or nutes at all the last few days... the res level just stays the same...

I think im just gonna toss it cause i got a few others in soiless sunshine mix4 and theyve been in 12/12 for almost 3 weeks now...the hydro 1 with the knats is stunnted now so it'll take a few extra weeks to finish if i did keep it...

figures, this was my 1st attempt at hydro...
i'll wait till the winter i guess...
it's just too damb hot and humid here...

Yup hot resi temps lead to alge and other root issues witch lead to fungus gnats a product called go gnats by hydroorganics rocks but it may be to late for that girl. Tell me how often you check or change the res?

put an inch of sand or DE on top of ur soil, it will stop them from laying eggs and the de will cut up the larva still alive...but yes, gnats suck

thanx ...

yeah, i was changing the rez about every 2-3 days during veg ...
then once i switched the light to 12/12 it seemed like just over night the plant stopped drinking anymore nutes and all the leaves started to get like rusty looking spots on them and then they'd just shrivle up and fall off ...

this sucks cause like i said, "this was my 1st attempt at hydro" and after vegging this bitch for over 2 months she looked as if she was going to produ8ce over a quarter pound ... she was a beast ...

just dont hurt the roots, if theyre in a net id say bury the net before tried yanking or cutting anything...but i dont see why not...alot easier to go to soil than it would to go from soil to hydro

very true, very true ...
maybe i'll give it a shot ...

the only problem is that i took it out of the grow room for the last 2 days , so the lighting schedule is a bit muffed up right now ...
might cause it to hermie , u think ???
