How's it going RIU..

Thought I'd share this summers small outdoor crop im messing with up here in the 916.

Seeds:
Bought seeds through AttitudeSeedBank with no issues. I purchased 10 Feminized seeds from Humboldt Seed Organization. I picked 5 HSO Blue Dream and 5 HSO Sour Blueberry. I chose 2 fem seeds from each pack. I also started 4 random seeds from a pack that I had purchased back in the day.

Nutes:
I'm using Advanced Nutrients Sensi Grow A + B and B52 right now. (Call it a waste but i don't care, has never let me down)

Later in flower I'll switch to Sensi Bloom A + B with B52, Bud Candy, Big Bud, Nirvana and Bud Factor X.

Have been using nutes at half strength and doing a feed, feed, water routine.

I started my Fem seeds April 1st. Germinated via paper towel method. Planted into FFHF in 1 gallon pots for about 7 weeks. I germinated the random seeds about a week later just to see how that bud would turn out once I eliminate my females. I planted all 4 of my Fem seeds into 15g pots the day they went outside permanently on May 25th. The 4 random ones are in 3 gallons. I have 2 clones from each random seed. The time are about to be flowered any day now to determine the sex of each one. Cut the males out and then transplant the remaining into 10g pots.

My soil mix, I used 3 bags of FFHF to 1 bag of FFOF. I almost mixed 2 small bags of Perlite you get from Lowes or HD. Mixed everything up and transplanted the 15g and 3g pots. So here are some pictures from beginning to now...

Looks nice, you should have quite the variety @ harvest
Thats what im hoping for. Hoping to get at least a LB per plant. We will see when that time comes. Gonna be fun tryna keep these under the fence. I go out and top all the new tops every 10 days or so. Gotta keep tying branches down. The stretch will be REAL

Miracle-Gro perlite has Miracle-Gro plant food in it. I prefer not to use Miracle-Gro plant food.
Did not know this... Put it all through strainers and washed extensively with water, but Will not be using again lol. But for now they seem to be holding up. Thanks for the info

It is .07/.07/.07. Not much in there to wash out. I use 4 cups in a 45 gallon soil mix, which has lots of manure composts in it. The good stuff will over ride the bad stuff.

You're welcome
I was in the checkout line with a bag in hand when my wife pointed it out to me, so she deserves the credit.
The planting mix I use (Down to Earth Pro-Organic) already has some perlite in it- last year it didn't have enough, but this year it has plenty so I ended up not needing it anyway.
Good luck with your grow, I'm doing 3 plants this year in 15 gal. pots

Keep us updated with your 15g pots. I wanted to go bigger but 15g still allows me to pick them up and move them around the yard when need be.. Should yield some monsters tho. One day my significant other will let me just till the whole backyard and plant directly in ground... hopefully at least...

The advantages to portability cannot be overstated- I'd have lost everything last year if I'd been in the ground. The last 2 years I grew in 10gal. pots and the roots reached the bottoms but not the sides, so that's why I'm going with the extra depth this year. My right arm and shoulder are messed-up and I only have half a bicep from a motorcycle crash in '08 so I have to keep my plants to a manageable size. Right now I'm vegging in 2gal. pots, but I'm going to pot up in about a week. I'm doing a little LST today, which is a new thing for me, I hope it works.

Did you have them under very weak light indoors? Lots of stretch between the nodes and especially from soil to the first node, just curious.

Good luck on the season thanks for sharing the pics

I had them under a 400w MH light their first 6 weeks or so of growth. I cut or sort of "lollipopped' a few lower branches in early growth to keep them off the soil. Now im just LST'n new branches weekly and continuously topping every 7 days or so. Trying to keep it under my fence as best as i can before the stretch hits lol.

Thanks for the wishes!! Good luck with you this season as well

Here's my setup...similar to yours. But I keep a few in the ground. Those tall 15 gal pots could get buried a bit. That will give you a little more height. I do pretty much the same method also. Top + lollipop. Mine end being just as wide as they are tall.

I'm running:

3 dbl tangie banana (Crockett/dna)

3 Strawberry Diesel x Space Dude (tga)

1 Agent Orange (tga)

1 Plushberry (tga)

Hahaha gotta do with what we have right? Not all of us are lucky enough for the multi acre lot with 100+ plants... The 916 treats us farmers right with the warm temps and long sun intervals. Love your set up as well. One summer ill be "allowed" to plant in ground.. (If only the lady would get on the same page) ... Happy wife is a happy life tho right?

Keep me updated on your grow! Ill venture outside of Humboldt Seed Organization after this summer. Try some more fancy stuff next year. Went strictly for yield this summer! Ill be posting another round of pictures at the end of this week. Good luck to you as well.

Lol @happy wife happy life...boy oh boy do I hear flack after working a full day and instead of going home I go to the grow spot for another 3 hrs of work. The tone changes around xmas when that xtra cash comes in to play. But they do stay happy and allow us to do the hobby we both love and profit from.

Cool man look forward to the updates and hopefully the bud worms go easy on us this year.

Finally an update. Wanted the girls to look a whole lot different by the time I posted again. Transplanted my 2 random seeds into 5g pots today. Cut down 2 of the randoms a week ago, males... do a 50% ratio, typical. All these feminized girls seem to be thriving in their 15g pots. Still topping and tying down branches. Feeding at half dose still on the Advanced Nutrients.. each 15g pot gets 5g every 3 days. They have been beasting through these 100+ days here in the 916!!

Stretch is going to be super fun here next month.. gotta get something in tact to hold up my branches eventually.!

Would love to get 1 lb per 15g pot.. but we will see. Even 12oz per would be cool. Hopefully get 4-6oz per 5g.

Almost a month later.. haven't noticed too much difference in the girls.. pretty sure they're maxed out on their 15g pots.. but, Flower is almost upon us here in the 916.

I gave a half feeding dose of Veg nutes today and a half feeding dose of flower nutes afterwards (AN Sensi Grow A+B and Bloom A+B).. the HSO Blue Dreams definitely love their N and

Very happy with HSO. Still have leftover Fem seeds from the BD and SB, ordering a bunch of other strains. Acquired some land up in more northern CA. 2018 will be "BIG" and "Full time" beginning in January. Going all HSO for the 99.
