Long term fix for filter/fan/cooltube

Right I'm running a 5 inch fan and filter to a cool tube. Using the jubilee clips provided. But these are just not satisfying my need to have things strongly fixed. I was thinking about losing the ducting between the fan and cool tube and bolting the lot together with 6mm nuts. Adding another ratchet hanger just to support the weight leaning to the filter side. If I had a room rather than a tent. They would be fixed to the wall no questions. Anybody had any experience doing the same?

I hook my filter directly to my fan. Then duct out from there. So I would say yes it would work? As long as it's secure. 3 ratchet hangers instead of 2 to keep it level. I say go for it see what happens!

My filter and fan go together but only slide on. No security other than a flappy jubilee clip. I was thinking of drilling 2 holes top and bottom of the joint between fan and filter. And bolting through. That will void my warranty though I'm guessing. After that I am thinking of losing the duct in between fan and cool tube and bolting both together. I would definitely be using a 3rd ratchet hanger to support the filter. Just trying to free Up space and increase efficiency and safety slightly. Just gotta decide if it's worth voiding the warranty lol

I usually don't care about the warranty on stuff lol. I think your plan is super solid. Any ducting you remove will maximize the fans pulling power for sure. Will remove the warm air faster. Just be careful if your using an ac. I have to dial my fan back so the cold air from mine has a chance to actually sit in the room without just getting sucked right out. Once you dial it in I don't see why it wouldn't be the best option.

I've just had a little one so I'm broke af and would struggle to pull the 80 quid out to replace it. Especially when I could show a receipt and they'd swap it there and then. Kinda thinking I'd rather lose the warranty and know that it's not gonna fall down and smash my light/squash my crop etc. I think I am just gonna go for it though. I don't have an ac. I just use an 80w greenhouse heater at night to keep temps up. My fan exchanges the air every 15 seconds in the tent and keeps the light cool. I just want it rock solid and tidy. Been looking at fan speed controllers too. Think that's gonna be on the list

I do have a journal going.

Not long started. Pics every Sunday. I'm working on a 12 site aero cloner too so will post a step by step of that at some point too. (when the sprayers arrive from China)
Cool I'll follow. I have to much time so my journal is all most daily. I need to make a cloner as well. Rockwood is kcking my ass lol. Im gonna make one soon. Probably this weekend. Only thing I need to figure out is spray timing. I'll dtw the runoff into a res that will spray 1 min then off for 4 I think. Built one years ago they are fantastic. I'm on day 6 of flower right now. Saw some hairs yesterday. Expecting some more tonight even though they seem to be taking their time lol. Stretching a little but not bad. Happy growing bud. I'll be following!

I'm pretty much mimicking an ez cloner. But added an air pump for the times the water pump is off. I have little room so needed something compact. Running a 309gph pump. 12 sites. Should be alright I'll let you know when it's done. had a look on screwfix and found some clip locks and P seal to make the middle watertight. Going for 2 inch net pots and neoprene collars in the top. Gotta order them stillDSC_0727.JPG you got a link I'll follow your journal too mate I always jump on RIU when I have free time. Good people here

Ya I'll try and find it. First website I ever joined still learning the ropes lol. Do you know alot about aero and hyro? My skills are limited but I can do what's needed. I'm wondering about putting a 396 gph pump and hook it straight to 1/2 pvc pipe straight up 6 inches then making a square with 360 sprayers pointing up and putting the pump on a timer plus airstone in the bottom of the res. Does this sound ok? That way no holes in the tub just slap the lid on with however any sites and check the res often? If that makes sense? If not it's cool. I'm fairly krispie at the moment lol.

I will build what I'm talking about and do pics or a video if that's possible? They are cheap and effecient and no plumbing leaving the tub. I'll make one Thursday. Happy growing!

I don't know much about much really mate. This will be my second grow. The wwxbb. With what youre saying regarding your aero cloner I can't really say without knowing the size of your tub. How many sprayers you're fitting etc. More nozzles is less pressure. So it's finding a balance that works. My first run was soil and this one's coco so hydro is really not my strong point. I could waffle shit to you to try and look cool but I'd rather let you know. I'm rather baked too ha
