Looking at quantum boards

Does anyone know what type of drivers are in the viparspectra 300w or the meizhi 300w?
Looking at a cheap QB set up and wondering if I can butcher one my old lights for it's Driver, just unsure if the driver will be able to power a half decent QB

Go on youtube and growmau5 has a video on how to convert a Mars Hydro to add Cobs. I am not sure the Vipar drivers could drive QBs but others over under the LED forum under the Indoor growing forum may know.

Cool, I've watched that video, I know what's involved and what's it needs to be capable of I just have no idea if the vipar has one big driver or 3 little ones, if it's one big driver it should handle a QB just fine but if it's the 2 or 3 smaller ones I'll have to go for the cob set up

It can be done fairly easily .....
Shitcanned a Mars " 600 " ... Gutted it .... Kept fans and fan driver.
Used Slate 1 HEATSINK for QB ... ( if you use HLG heatsink , NO TIM IS REQUIRED)
No more thermal paste or sticky pads ..... Screw to board ... Done.
Pulled old shit board , trashed it. ( no worthwhile parts ) Diodes are cheap shit.

Repurposed the case .... Gave it a color change and POOF a light that will put any of those China disco lamps to shame. I reused one of the six board drivers that were inside.
Believe it or not , it was only 50 watts .... And it put any pink purple shit to shame ....
Efficiency is its best feature.

QB 304 can run up to 150w
Upgrade driver to meanwell and get dimming function.
Boards are ready to hang - mount holes on HEATSINK- ready for ratchet ropes.
Upgradeable ( add more boards - parallel or series )
Runs much cooler than any blurple light and hid.

Below is the same light growing four plants .... Using only 50 watts .

I have used most of those blurple brands - Mars , Viper , Meizhi and King , no more ......

im actually about to do this same thing to a king 1200 led. 1/3 of the lights went out, and I saw that the 304’s were on sale right now super cheap. Sorry to bug, but would my driver work to power the 304? I have the hlg 65 kit and I absolutely love it !

To reply to the questions on whether the existing drivers on the fixtures will work with the QB's.
You will need to open up the fixture and see if there are any output specs listed on the drivers. That will allow you to see what will work with them. To the fellow with the King, I have an identical fixture and used some Vesta strips to gut the pcb after I had the same issue. $60 and an afternoon resulted in about a 40% increase in light output and is currently running a pair of autos in a 2x3 closet.

Thank you! That’s what I wanted to hear!

These three drivers say output voltage 80-100v dc @750ma

Since posting this thread I have done a few plants with my vipars, used the proceeds to buy 2x QB 288 boards with hlg driver

And since then I have upgraded again to a 4x 288 3500k boards, its pulling up to 550w from the wall, in a 4'x2' space that's working out at 68wpsf, think that should be enough haha!

Jesus. That's a lot for a 2x4.. How are the plants handling it?
