Hey, just thought I'd let you know our experience with getting a medical license.

We signed up through MMAS.ca (search google for others)

Legitimate doctors will ask for your medical records, medications, etc.. (here's a list of docs who sign for you, they actually won't sign for people unless they feel it is a last resort: http://johnturmel.com/doctors.htm)

First step is you sign the Government's medical forms (more info on medicalmarijuana.ca) There are a few forms you must sign, the representatives who aid you through the process will tell you which ones.

You're going to have to send in about 450 dollars to the agency that will hook you up with a doctor, diagnose your conditions, tell you what to do to get your license from step 1. It's a long process but I think it's worth it to have to legally grow marijuana.

Since you have depression and have taken meds (I presume that they make your condition worse through their side effects and seldom work) you will most likely be accepted for the license.

The license expires 1 year after it has been issued, and you're going to have to pay another 200ish dollars to that same agency you signed through to renew your license. You do that on an indefinite bases every year or until any changes have taken place.

We've waited about 5 months and will be getting the license in a few days.

OR, you can just go to a local doctor in your area (or the one who prescribed those meds for you) whose brain actually works and will sign for you instead of saying "no, it's bad for your health and illegal"

The reality is in actuality, Doctors are not ethically allowed to refuse a safe form of treatment as long as the treatment is working. Refusal of treatment is a violation of the Code of Ethics for doctors. In addition to this violation to the Code of Ethics, they also violate our "common law" doctrine of "informed consent" which allows any ADULT to use cannabis medically, and for a doctor to "refuse it" is a breach of that Doctrine.

While these points are not the ones a person should lead with, as a Doctor can refuse you service if you threaten them with these facts. They can be used to inform your doctor of some misconceptions of medical cannabis.

Our system is full of red tape as most Drs want nothing to do with it. Stay in Cali unless ur ok with six months of winter. I don't know why anyone from Cali would wanna come here...sounds crazy to me.

If you havent been busted don't worry. If it happens call kammerman and pay the $250 is my view. I used to be MMAR and now i don't even care. Having a license makes most brag. Thiefs will kill you, cops will gofer you to the judge. If you really want a license keep looking for dr/s and keep your lips shut when you get your card.

I'm sure if your smart (which you have to be when doing this) There shouldn't be a problem if you keep your mouth shut, and stay legit. By legit I mean growing for your needs and nothing more, and by needs I mean medical needs...

Im not an MMAR registered yet but I'm sure not everyone gets killed by thief's or bothered by cops.

Damn, the only problem is I don't even remember who the dr is who diagnosed me.
It was 6 years ago and I've just been on the same dose for 6 years! Its like the docs put me on pills and just leave me on them, with no signs of me ever getting off them.

So im guessing prescription records isn't sufficient?

Any idea of how I would go about getting my diagnosis if i don't even know who the dr is who diagnosed me in the first place?
(get another diagnosis? lol)

thanks again everyone!
the Dr that prescribed it to you will be named on the bottle...

It is a proud moment to say you are MMAR and word passes fast. Seen some get shot and such. Police have probable cause to search and it basically makes it known. Just keep it low. When it first came out many med users addresses were found and it isn't a perfect program that is for sure. I wish luck to anyone that wants it

arthritis of the knee a good reason to get into the MMAR? i injured it back in my late teen years and had to get it operated on after i grad high school, i basically tore the cartilage in my knee and had to get it removed. turning 24 and i got arthritis, hopefully i can get signed. then again the doctor would prob refer me to a joint specialist for a knee replacement rather than gimme da herb lol.
