I wouldn't say it was worth the money switching all the ducting hoods and fans. I didn't really notice an increase in yield.
How much cooler did it get?
I don't know that it did, my a/c keeps it the same temp. I got them for the wider footprint but they really aren't much better. You can even move the bulbs, the socket slides up/down and forward/back.
