Hey guys ive decided to go with cob leds after looking into all the different lights. Ive decided to go for 8x citizen clu048 1212s. The question i have is should i go with 2x meanwell hlg 185-c1050 drivers or is there a single driver i can go with?

Thanks

The price is the same so it makes sense to buy the 1400ma and dim it to 1050ma .

Gives a bit of room to turn it up then if you need to.
Im so noobie when it comes to electrics lol. So what power does the 1400ma run them at? Thanks for the help btw

If you times the voltage of the cob by the current that gives you you're watts.

The 1050 driver will work just fine i just suggest the 1400 as its the same price and gives you extra if you need it.

Im not sure how else to explain it .

The 1050 will max at 1050ma . The 1400 will max at 1400ma but can be turned down to 1050ma anyway.

Drivers are the same price. Either driver will work fine :)

Should be able to run 4 1212s on an HLG-120H-C1050 since they are 36 volts cobs. By the same token you could run all 8 on a HLG-320H-C1050 but would need to solder them. Check the cob and solderless holder datasheets to see max voltage ratings.
