Looking into making a bonzai MJ plant

I have 0 experience Growing. And this seems like the best way to grow personal smoke for my self. I live in an apartment and would like this to be done indoors.

So for me this would be an awesome project to get constant buds all the time. I don't smoke much I can make 3.5 grams last a week. How much yield could I get with something like this? Maybe I could set up 3 of them and start them in intervals.

Is there any books I should be reading before I get my fingers wet so to speak? Or any advice from the current growers that are working at this type of thing

I want results like these

Lol I am pretty sure that picture is photoshopped, look at the lighting on the leaves compared to the rest of the picture
Sorry bro, just read up on all the threads you can on here and you will learn a lot

yeah and if it was real imagine what a waste of good bud considering the thickness of the stem and the amount of foliage it would have to be vegged for a long time.

The stalk of that plant is soo thick, that used to be a tree bro. Jus got cut down to that small size. haha
Anyway to get it in different shapes like that is called Low Stress Training and I believe there are some threads made about it within the forums.

Good luck!

it is fake if it , u can see the buds are on branches and just slid into place and the buds at the bottom in the front have bailing wire coneted 2 them, a plant in a pot like that will just get root bound and kill it self, try 3 gallon pots, bonsi trees have 2 go through root trimings i think,

This plant is only 9 inches tall from the top of the pot and about 15 inches wide....so you can keep them small without messing around with trimming the roots. It has been topped multiple times which may not be the best method due to the increased stress on the plant. It is under a 125w cfl 3-4 weeks into flowering.

If you have 0 experience growing, then try growing a plant regular style first. Just one plant. Any plant. Growing pot is hard. You'll never be able to master advanced techniques like this (in a pot that small you would have to be trimming the roots constantly, or maybe use Spin-Out cause it certainly won't look like that if you don't) until you can grow regular pot in a regular pot. lol

Not trying to dis, just keeping it real. GL

you should do some research on bonsi, those wires are for training and that is a bonsi pot, all normal bonsi tech.

im not photoshop savy, the light looks off and the over all pick dus look strange.

but what is shown in that pic is possable in that pot with that wire. the wire is how it is shaped.

That is totally possible, you'll just have to keep "shaving" the roots, there is a proper name for that but can't remember.
Looks like a reveg to me, as looking at the stalk.
It looks sicc as hell, I don't know if that photo is real or not, but I'm saying that it can be done.

Something I see on this site that I have been meaning to enter are the Party Cup Contest. Even if it isn't really a contest, its a pretty snazzy show of skill and lack of skills. I would Try putting some bag seed in a party cup, start it on 12/12 from birth and fucking top it anyways. I'm using clones right now, but after they have created roots, its possible to force it into flowering immediately. Search Party Cup threads or 12/12 from seed threads. They are awesome. Haven't found many utilizing topping or super cropping, but I do love me some super cropping. All you have to do is pinch a stem and it will swell to produce a much fatter stem with two lanes of traffic for water and nutrients. when you pinch the stem to super crop it, it will probably droop a bit, you could the tie that down. But dude party cup thread with 12/12 light from seed... its amazing, some plants though get freeking tall ass hell with no room for roots or anything. this is a little bit handy, i want to take back what i said about topping, as that supposedly stops the hormones that stop growth on the other colas. so you top it, and all the lower stems will have freedom to grow like they were the main cola squeeze.

To sum my rant up. Try growing without vegging, putting your bag seeds under 12/12 light from birth. If its just personal, fuck what other people think and just enjoy it for yourself, this is all for you anyways. I will for sure make a thread for my new Swazghani Lights #5 tribreed. I put a rooted clone in my patented koolaid pitcher with airstones. It's frigging hot. The mother was already starting flowering, so the clones are supposed to end up as monster crops, but maybe without a veg period they wont get crazy to where they would need alot of room that i wont have for them.

Most bonsai growers actually avoid wires, it can dig into the bark of the tree and scar it all to hell if you're not careful.

As for actually "bonsai'ing" a cannabis plant, sure, it can be done. You can turn pretty much any plant into a piece of bonsai work as long as you know what you're doing. I recommend reading through some wiki articles and dropping by a book store and skimming through the books they'll have on the subject. Normally there are at least 4-5 books floating around that you can sink your nose into and gain some knowledge on the subject.

I grew a bonzai mom and it came out perfect...
Step 1 Grow an Untopped clone till it has 4 side branches.
Step 2. Top the clone right above the 4th side branch so all branches become "Main Shoot"..
I put my mother in a 1 quart container and Bam Bonzai Mom. I take about 20-25 cuttings every 2 weeks and she takes up little to no room and I have to water her every other day. Once I have to water everyday I'll root prune her. Pictures below :) Hope this was helpful :blsmoke:

You can do it. Check out my grow. A lot of LSt and vegging for a bit. Root development and natural teas like compost

Hey guys, new grower here, but an avid gardener with a handful of bonsai's from 1 year to 5 years old, and a variety of other plants. I know bonsai plants require root pruning which can be tricky bc too much can shock the plant-- even kill it if you do too much. But if you don't prune, the plant can become root bound in a small container. The root pruning is what keeps the plant dwarfed. I don't know if it's the same with MJ, but I'd like to know,as I've got some MJ starters about 2.5 inches on my window seal facing south. Friend gave me the seeds so I don't know the strain, but I'd like them to stay small too.
