in the wikipedia thing though it says adult males feed only on nectar and the larva feed on decaying vegetation... that doesn't sound too harmful unless you got decaying vegetation covered in maggots.. if you see a hole in the bud though then i would worry like hell...Have you tried a spray or something? go get an organic spray or if you haven't already and see if you can kill it or if it is only a few of them kill em yourself and cover your box with something to keep em out. it sounds like this is the mating season so look for eggs too...
