Lowering humidity

Any ways to lower humidity without increasing temperature, or using a dehumidifier?

My grow box, which is now my drying box, is at 70° but 70% humidity.

It was at 50% before I put the buds in there to dry. (obviously the buds are drying!)

What can I do to lower the moisture?
Put in a bowl of dry rice?

your extraction fan should be able to keep the inside near the same as outside humidity. if thats still to high seal the area and get a dehumidifier and or damprid buckets

I don't have a fan.
The room is air conditioned.
The cardboard grow/drying box is not.
I had the box opened for an hour or so and put in a ceramic heat emitter bulb.

Temp raised to 80, humidity dropped to 55.

Shut off the heater bulb and shut the door again.

Think a bowl of dried rice in there would help?
It works for cell phones...

I am not sure on that, never tried that one, let me know if that works,
On my AC unit it has a dehumidifier which is nice option.
it does work for cell phones not sure if it will take the moisture out of the air or not interested in hearing if it does, you may be on to something :)

If you could get any kind of fan, maybe even a computer fan just to take out some air. A small fan would work the best, but if you don't have one keep the AC on that should calm down the hum.
and if you do try and pull in air from the bottom and send it out on top, you will be amazed on how much that will lower your humidity.

I'm gonna try it since rice is a lot cheaper and I have some.
Worst case scenario I can have rice for dinner lol

If that doesn't work, I can get these:

Damprid doesn't exist in Canada apparently..

Nvm just found it at Canadian tire!
12oz for $6
Not sure what type of fan you are thinking of using or your budge. This may not be a strong enough fan IDK, but it can be set up out of the way and take some air a nice distance from the room for $40. $30 fan + $10 4" duct. More $ for a more powerful fan for more air removal.

Dry ice is carbon dioxide. It's not going to lower your humidity.

If you're going to dry them in the tent, use paper bags and put about a half-cup of rice in each bag. The paper and rice absorb moisture. You're going to want to move them around once per day (Open the bag, rotate your stock around, refold the bag.)

That's one of the many reasons I'm so glad I don't have to use a tent. They're just awful.

Hey shitake.. def post up the results if you go with those scrubbers. I have the same problem but in a 150 square foot room. Cant run the dehumidifier due to its heat production. I wont be able to rig up a vent until next grow so i need an alternative solution. And its getting moisty in the late summer here.. it sucks!

But those scrubbers say 350 sqr ft of coverage..but im curious about how long they last.

should have been a comma after "air or not" sounds rude and wasn't intended too. and after phones, I was in a hurry yesterday.

sorry lol, I read that and today and said, "wtf"

Im growing/drying in a 18"x18"x36" cardboard box.

The rice seems to work!
I put about 2 cups of rice in a bowl under the hanging buds and the humidity is at a constant 55 for 2 days now!

I checked on the buds, and they're getting crispy on the outside, but still feel moist and squishy. Stems still bend like they're wet.

The popcorn buds seemed dry enough already, so I jarred them.
