I ordered 1x lowryder and 1x AK47 from Worldwide Marijuana Seeds and I'm reading here that the Lowryder strain bypasses the veg state all together and that you can't induce flowering by manipulating time lapses. Is this true?

This may be a real stupid question but when buying seeds from the seedbank above, an order of 1x isn't just 1 seed is it (knowing my luck, i'll end up with 2 males from my 2 seeds if thats the case)?

Yep, 1x = one seed and you are rolling the dice. I order 3 - LSD and 3- Blue cheese feminized to make sure I get girls from Worldwide late last week. I've heard nothing but good things about them. From there I intend to clone to get what I need for production if they grow well in my situation. Lowriyders are a good idea but the first batch would have to be seeded and then I would have enough seeds to make it worth while. Cloning the the way to go for me. I've done it twice and it's a snap. Working with bag seed now but that will change when I get my strains. Especially excited about the LSD. It sound solid.

The lowryder doesn't exactly bypass the veg state but can start flowering around 2-3 weeks in and it both grows a little and flowers at the same time. It's called an autoflowering strain because the light cycle doesn affect it one way or another. 12/12 lighting should be fine and you might get a little more bud with 24/7 but maybe it wil make no difference. I'd let the ak47 determine what light cycle I'm on. (24/7 for veg and 12/12 for flower)

Wow, $12 for a single seed! So I just have to hope that I get lucky and get a female from one of the 2 seeds. Thanks for the info, now I just have to sit back and wait.

I'm right with you. $50 for 5 seeds. For that price, I'll just clone when they get big enough. At least I bought feminized. NO guarantee but your chances are good for a female that way. Usual odds for male/female are 50/50. With feminized it more like 90/10 in your favor. Good luck!

one lowryder seed thats funny, basically u payed twelve bucks for an ounce or two in 2 months no more no less; and may i suggest lowryder 2 from personal expereince ive found her to be more resinous and potent than 1

That's the thing with lowryders, they really aren't any good for cloning simply because they are an autoflowering strain, no way to re-veg the clone so it's pointless. Any other non-auto strain, lmo, keeping the mother and taking clones is the way to go with non-auto strains.

I agree RJ. I was trying to figure out what the attraction is other than the height and some kind of bud in a short time ( not saying that's bad). I wonder if you could buy a standard pack, get the males and let them breed for the seeds and then take it from there? Seems the only way it makes the slightest bit of sense. I'd rather clone a known female plant than guess and hope with seeds.

lowryder matures due to age rather than light cycle thus they are auto flowering!! you bought 2 seeds?? i mean u risk by buying seeds and u buy 2 u should have got like 20 and u would have only paid 75 more plus u could breed!!! check out my journal to see how they will be turning out!! im 3 weeks from harvest on my oldest one!!

Ha, yea I can be a bit dense. The site referred to them as 1x so I assumed that this meant 1 pack, because there could just be no way that a single seed could cost $12 (+ $7 shipping)!

Then I got my confirmation and that's when I realized that I had just spent $20+ on 2 seeds.

Now I'm hoping that my AK47 is a female that I can clone because the lowryder doesn't seem to lend itself well to cloning (or so I'm reading). Either way I'm eager to start and waiting just kills me!

Hm, so for a CFL grow should I skip the standard 42w 6500K Daylight bulbs and just use the 2700K soft whites? Also, if there's no real vegetation state should I just wait until I start to see flowers before I begin nutrition supplements and turn on all the extra CFLs I have for flowering? Damn I should have read up more on strains before I randomly picked them out from the seed bank!

yes you should have!! i dont know about cfls never used them!! i made a nice hot soil mix and my babies did very well till fourth week where i started the bloom formula!! BEWARE AF strains need little feeding i gave two of my babies a guano tea to early(beginning of third week) and they are almost a week behind from the stunt!! check out my journal it will help you!!

My friend grows outdoors and he bought two ten packs of Lowryder. All sprouted, he put them all outside together and he now has enough seeds to grow his whole life. That would be the attraction.

Then at some point you have to monitor and pick out the males or you'll have seeds everytime. Maybe it's just me since I prefer to clone to the next gerenation. Still, I'm open to the idea cause I figured out a long time ago that everyboday ain't like me.
