LP days are numbered

So... I'm a PhD plant guy and I've actually _done_ this. Or, rather, tried it. The prenyltransferase is a total bitch to get working in yeast. It's chloroplast localized in the plant and.... yeast don't have chloroplasts. So it'll take them a _really_ F'in long time to pull this off. Even if they do, the yeast strains will only produce a single cannabinoid (thus no entourage effect, as Agracan pointed out), and will only make a ridiculously small amounts of it compared to the plant!

So, don't get your panties in a bunch. The evolution of cannabis has _exquisitely_ made it an awesome prenylated polyketide producer!

Oh yes! I cannot wait to see how the market will fluctuate when Bedrocan and Organigram join in! I cannot believe that with all the fuck ups Tweed made it is still doing pretty good!

don't let tweeds "looking good" fool you, remember they have major dollars and all the scammy things tweed & HC have done in the past. Also patients that aren't too bright not knowing what medical grade is like are staying for now... with all the better LP's having closed their registrations because they are full (maybe) theirs no where else to go... for now because changing LP's isn't that easy to do quickly.

but yeah LP's either have to get their prices subsidized (LOL spell check) or insurance needs to cover costs. or they will fail

Jump in ladies and gentleman, im on the highway to hell with the LPs. I hate the LP model of helping patients.

Soon and believe me, soon. There is going to be a "monsanto" jump into this industry and it will be bad for everyone.
The current system is a band-aid.

It will NEVER stay the way it is. It can't.

People will riot. As they should.

But what is the solution? Who does it right?

Even if legalization happens, I think it's good that people that WANT to buy the expensive micro-brew of weed - can have that option. Online or through dispensaries.

But if someone WANTS to grow, they should be able to. (Just like making your own beer or wine).

Sure the government can't make money off of that. But I do NOT think patients should be forced to have a $1000 a month MMJ prescription.

That's how much mine would have cost if I filled out the whole thing. I ordered 1/3.

STILL fuckin too expensive for Nanna...

Oh, and insurance companies MUST pay for MMJ prescriptions like they do for every other kind of prescribed prescription.

Fuck Monsanto...it's shit like this that will keep the underground going. Can you imagine trying to mke everyone use the same strain of mj? That is so fucked up as to be laughable.

People have been trying to make a good thc substitute
since god was young and i doubt any of us will see it completed and marketed in our lifetimes.
Look at those so called thc pills that are supposed to be the same as high cbd pot for patients but its not even close.

Im fighting to get my insurance company to pay for my script and i was told that basically im a dreamer but i refuse to just let it slide. I will fight forever if i have to.

actually heard a lawyer commercial on the radio at work "If your doctor says you need a medication and your insurance company wont pay for it, call me blah blah"

This is in toronto if you end up trying to search...you would hit the lotto, just make sure you remember who sent you in the right direction ;)

I have only one more appeal left with wcb...I'm waiting until it's legal then they won't have an argument ( well other than the formulary but I have years to work that out).
