Gday all.

Thought id share my 130W CFL Fridge grow.

Dimensions of the lower fridge section (the grow room) are 1000mm x 600mm x 500mm. (39 inches x 23.5 inches x 19.5 inches approx)

I normally garden outside so this is a learning curve and a bit of fun.

3 mystery seeds germinated and popped their head above the ground on the 15/7

Topped at above the second node on the 27/7. So im looking for 4 main at this stage

6400k veg at 24/7.

Using a rather hot soil. Kelp mix with chicken shit and mushroom compost plus dry granules including Dynamic lifter, ash and coals and some Epsom salts. Its pretty much my out door pot mix but in self watering pots. Just like a SIP system im supposing.

Temp seems to sit pretty steady at 23-25c

I have just added Fongarid to the last watering as a precaution against root rot. (im hoping thats a good idea..)

Looks bang tidy Luke.
That height adjustable shelf looks like it will come in handy. What is the blue granular stuff in the soil? Looking at the fridge closed you would never think it is a grow box. Very cool. (fridge pun)

Cheers,
Will

The blue stuff is some time release fertilizer.called Osmocote. Some people hate dry ferts..I tend to like em from my out door grows.I really dont know if the soil mix will work but it seems to be doing OK at the moment.
Due to the thermo qualities of a fridge..temps are easy to hold so far. Beer goes warm fast though..

Beer goes warm fast though..
Drinking warm beer to me is like rubbing one out while watching gay porn. I will drink the warm beer if that is all you got. I have tried giving myself hand relief watching gay porn, I liked the challenge and lasted fricking ages. The warm beer still gets me pissed and the gay porn thing, well I got there in the end.

I bet your outdoor growing season is long in Oz giving time release ferts a chance to break down. Based on the size of your grow space you will most likely flower them short and finish them in 8-9 weeks.(strain dependent) You might have to switch to a liquid fert that is instantly available for the plants to use. Not a critique in anyway just a thought for your consideration.

Author's Note :
My comment about mastrubating to gay porn was a crass attempt at humor. My personal belief is if a man prefers intimacy with other men that is their prerogative.
I harbor no ill will towards the gay community. Please accept my comments with levity and know they come without malice or prejudice towards your lifestyle.

Cheers,
Will

lol...

gay porn eh?....I hope you had your cowboy hat on to march the stirrups...
If we delve into the depravity of my inner self I fear you would learn more about me then you would be comfortable with. :D Costumes and props being the least of my sinful manifestations.

There 3 month time release. May be a bit slower than that as im not watering the top of the soil. Heat does work as well to break them down I believe.

Im thinking around a 3 to 4 week veg time and then maybe 10 weeks from switch. Thats close to 3 months all up. I have to have 2 months of goodness in the soil without the time release.

Ill see how we go. I have some Ice seeds on way for the next round if this system works. if not ill change..maybe dwc.....

I am certain you will have it all sussed out. This is obviously not your first rodeo.:p

I am glad you started this thread. I have a keen interest in these small stealth grows. How are you finding them Decor pots? They have a U.K. distributor listed on the site you linked but I do not think they stock them here. I wanted to purchase a couple for houseplants as my DIY mini SIPs are not exactly eye candy.

Cheers big ears,
Will

The decor pots have been round for decades. They are well built and work very very well. There is heaps of ventilation in the bottom of the soil holder which is fantastic.

I highly recommend them for use on decks and in the house and........... in fridges... (if they dont work in the fridge it will be my fault not the pots fault.)

If you look in the freezer compartment in the above picks u can see the black bottom part of a funnel i use for refilling them. Easy and spill free and if i do a SROG next, means i can water them easily. I keep my water up there to so its at room temp.

I agree these mirco grows are fun and interesting.

I am sure if I look hard enough I will find some in Europe. I know a DIY store called Homebase here was recently purchase by an Oz company called Bunnings. Perhaps they will stock them. Maybe another member here in Europe will jump in and link a site for me to buy something similar.

Yes I think doing a lot in a small space is cool. I have set up a grow cabinet to experiment with different strains and techniques.https://www.rollitup.org/t/building-a-new-grow-cabinet.910033/. It is my intention to help others local to me build and maintain little grows to be self supplying. Big grows cause big problem if discovered. Sentencing guidelines in the U.K. use plant numbers to determine the growers intent. Production of cannabis to supply to others carries harsher penalties. I am a hobby grower. If I grow more plants it is because I like to observe traits and find hidden gems.:-D

Cheers,
Will

Love the.idea of using a fridge, I also had the same idea but havnt had the time to renovate the fridge with intake and outtake, I have a nice fridge lying around that is.broken. One of the stainless steel ones it's around.5 years old and looks brand.New.

Ultimate stealth cab for sure haha and great insulation and already coated with reflective white paint in the interior. Only downside to this is having a.heavy grow cab to lug around if you decide to move house. Although one could.gut the.motor and.excess.parts and make it lighter

They loose quite a bit of weight after the motor etc is removed. I'd like to move back into town but the wife doesnt so I wont be moving for awhile. In saying that loading an extra fridge (with all the relevant grow equipment inside it) is easier than compressors, tool boxes, car panels etc.......I have lots of "stuff".

I have no ill efect on using the Fongarid in the water so far. Was a touch worried as ive never used it before. Hopefully this will prevent any rot problems from happening.
Added another small intake hole/tube as we had a warmer day yesterday (spring is on its way) and the temp got to 30c. The extra hole dropped it back to 25c pretty quick. Im not sure ill be able to use this set up in the middle of summer as we get the odd 40c day. Wait and see.

I checked your thread out Will, You seem to be a very clever knowledgeable man. I couldnt understand allot of what you said..lol.. In time eh?
Bunnings is a huge company, large warehouse stores all over, they would stock these pots i recon.

Made up a SCROG screen today. Still not sure if ill use it this grow due to the unknown seed quality. ( i think they may have come from a hermie).

Im a little lost as when to flip. Being an outside grower stretch has never been a logistics problem before. Im thinking of 5 days time..Thoughts?

I also bought some Perlite for my outdoor pot grow. Had a bush walk on Sunday to check out my gorilla plot. All sweet there but need to get fencing in very soon. Its sitting in the shed its just a problem getting it in. Ice seeds yet to arrive.

Busy busy...Who said stoners were a lazy bunch?
