I just bought a cheap Multimeter........obvs it won't get used on my plants, just electrics, which could only contribute to burning down my flat.....so it's all OK :o :D
I'll have a read of the coco thread at some point.......think I saw the thing about IR and leaf temps somewhere....makes sense. Hopefully your battle is close to being won (:
Did you see the ITV prog about the celebs on a US pot road trip? They were in @ttystikk 's part of the world as well as California. If you didn't catch it, it's worth a watch.......especially the bit where they od'd on brownies lmao

Yeah where you at @ttystikk ? Don't see you around much...hope all is well man.
lol no fire please!

nah didnt see it, im so behind on telly - its been months! ill put ion the list (:

REALLY monitor your temps at the roots too. IMO If you dont keep the roots over 20 things get shitty! temps have plummeted recently but turning the heating up will save you so much aggro and speed things up

Funny you should mention temps.....woke up yesterday and my 3 plants were not looking great....knew it was temps so turned on the giant cfl and they perked up after a few hours. Today they look so much better. Got a large sack of Jack's Magic turning up tomorrow so they'll get put into final pots, hopefully in the new cab, and I'll keep an eye on the temps and chuck the cfl in there ready if needed.

Yeah I remember you telling me before that it's good to veg for 24/0 so that's what I'm gonna do.....speeds things up as well I would assume....
Got the JM compost off eBay.....don't think they do hydro products.
Tell you what I did come across, Mega Crop, which seems to be really good.....Green Leaf Nutrients are on RIU, you might have seen them. They are in the US but giving away free samples of 230g until Dec 31. There is a clickable discount voucher on the website. Costs about a tenner to get it to the UK but it should last a while......

I got a freebie of the Mega Crop Green Leaf Nutrients. It is fantastic. PH never swings, use from clone to flower and hard to nute burn. Works with hydro and soil based. I bought a 20# sack after I saw the improvement in my finished product from my freebie. I used to use botainacare series and was very happy. Now I am happier with even sweeter and bigger budz than before same light. I highly recommend this product. You can smell the molasses in it when you mix it. My hands always smell sweet now, lol
peace

ha! its been in the back of mind ever since! this one stop powder sounds my kinda simple (: works out so cheap too nom nom nom
You were on about the cool temps earlier, I've a wee tent in an un nsulated shed.
I have a 100 watt heatmat in it and I draped some silver foil over tent in a vain attempt to keep temps up on ights out.
Yesterday I lagged it with 2 5ft x 7ft carpets, bubble wrap, silver foil and a huge woollen blanket my ma knitted years ago.
Temps right now are 15oC lights out lol
It'll harden them....

organic based or fertilizer salt product ? I do not like to kill off soil aerobic activity.

it's a mineral based product, but mineral salt based fertilizers do not kill soil microbes when used correctly, they feed them. I use megacrop in homemade no-till organic soil and I love it, as do the microbes and the plants..

Well would you get a salt build up requiring flushing in pots ?

salt buildup occurs when you apply more minerals than the plant can use. the excess nutes remain in the soil and build up over time, requiring flushing.. the conventional way of growing with mineral nutes is to water to 20-30% runoff and flush for 1-2 weeks prior to harvest, which is necessary because people tend to use more nutrients than the plants actually require, so the soil needs to be regularly flushed via runoff to avoid salt buildup/nute burn and flushed at the end via plain water feeding and/or flushing agents to try to get a smooth smoke... personally I don't do it that way at all.. I just read my plants and feed lightly and give them exactly what they want and nothing more. I don't water to runoff, and I don't flush at all, not even pre-harvest.. and yet I get smooth-burning, super flavorful herb that burns to a nice fluffy white or light gray ash... go figure..

not trying to convince you or anyone else to do it this way, btw. just letting you know what works for me personally.. I was doing water only no-till for a long time, and I may go back to doing it that way sometime in the future, but I'm loving the mineral/organic combo right now...
