Magnum plus

Okay so purchased a magnum plus led light, looking forward to doing some hands on research as all you can do is take someone's word for it or look at others grows lol...I decided to try and buy what I'm told is the best. I was once told "if your going to be a bear be a grizzly" so thats what i did when i purchased hps I got two 1000 watt digilux and quantum digi ballasts with magnum xxxl hoods...Now that led has had my eye for two years now! Waiting and researching the shit out leds and ALL companies..(I dont need links I've seen and contacted almost everything out there even handmade versions)..I decided on the magnum plus for its design/watt output/price ratio. Might not actually be the grizzly of leds, such as perhaps the "solar flare" in terms of led chips or 5 watt diodes... but i like what it has to offer (so im told) it compares to a 1000 watt 4ftx4ft footprint..we will soon see as I am just patient not a manufacturer or seller or etc... you can see my grows on here.. no professional setup in a wharehouse...no gimmicks...I will post pics of the unit as it will be in my next grow. Keep in mind my veg has been under two 600 watt units for about 6 weeks from clone so this will be a flowering potential run for the magnum vs a 1000 hps...thanks for reading through my long introduction lol bongsmilie

A lil bud/eye candy from my current grow been flushing and there almost ready so sorry for all the yellowing leaves lol, but to show what the led is up against this is from my 2000 watt hps grow.....

This is the lucky ladies which will be divided into two groups (two church, three mango, two thunderbud, one strawberry diesel, and one of my own creation to the far right "orange cough" mix of orange krush/strawberry cough)

current in flower all strains listed above with the addition of hindu kush (tall single cola in back left of one of the pics) and the very green plant up front is a super critical 3 weeks in flower

yo hows things? i also have the mag plus. it packs a hell off a punch. i wood advise u are carefull with distance. i dont go nearer then 24 inches as it slows and bleaches. dave from grow perfect have advised 30 -22 inches. i seen a journel on lbg site which is going great some1 else with the mag plus who is so close to light but great growth. i tryed 15 inches and didnt grow just bleached and the bottom plants grew loads but none on canopy

The light came in a few days ago, and yes its very powerful as i plugged it in to test it out and almost went blind lol, but due to a early harvest (plants finished faster than expected flower time) I've been busy with that but will soon post the new set up.....sorry for the delay everyone!

Set up is done with some sweat n tears jk...but will post some pics as soon as the lights pop on...Also i kept the 2 1000 watt hoods up just moved them further apart and squeezed in the magnum between them...give some feedback if you think its a good idea or if you would do it differently, all criticism or ideas are excepted

I didnt think it was save to leave power cord over top of HIDs,^? nice setup looking forward to see your results with the magnum
I thought it would've been a problem but my hoods stay very cool to the touch with the fresh night temps pumping through them...thank you ill be posting updates at least once a week, so its not too boring

I'd definitely try to keep the led in the middle of the two hps lights to get an even spectrum blend, but it looks like the magnum is sitting a few inches higher almost on top of the ducts...looks to be blocking some of the led footprint...can you maybe lower the led to fit under the ducts? Or maybe bring the led to the front some and angle it toward the plants? Would hate to see you not getting the full effects of the led

yea I'm def trying to figure out that exact situation only prob is, the magnum is supposed to be at least 24" away from the canopy and the hoods with the hps I have 18" away so its tough.....how far away can i bring 1000 watt hps away from the canopy w/o losing good penetration? the hoods are cooled as it is

I would lower the magnum about 6 inches... I understand your hesitation, but I would lower it. If you notice signs of excessive heat/burning/bleaching, then you can always raise the magnum higher again...

I'm thinking I'll be lowering all lights little by little each day until I hit the sweet spot..but for now my light meter gets maxed out when put at canopy level
