male flower causing pollination

I'm in the 8th week of flowering for a group of what was definitely female plants and was very bummed to see that one plant is now growing copious seeds. Thinking back I realized that in week 4 there was a male flower on one of the tops. Based on what I have read I thought 'this is no big deal' and plucked it off. I wonder now if that was a mistake and how I should have handled it. Any feedback is appreciated. Also, when should I harvest the plant as it seems to be putting a lot of energy in to seed production and the tricomes are not turning from milky to amber? Thanks.

Picking it off while it was still a bud was your only option. You didn't. You should really examine every plant every day to check for any problems - insects, hermies, nute burn, etc.

If you have a male plant in with a bunch of fems your going to hemie all of them and at best your procuct will be full of seeds, pull it.

Thanks for the feedback. Should I harvest now or will the THC count improve? Most trich's are cloudy but not yet amber.
