Please spare the immaturities, but does anyone else feel all depressed after they pull the males from their garden? I know i feel like shit right now, i lost like my three biggest plants and the one big plant i had that i thought was gonna be female started to grow balls on me :( . It's so goddamn depressing, i cant stand it. I feel so cheated and frustrated.....im not a new grower and i feel this way everytime i find out one of my favourite plants is a male....anyone care to relate?

well it is called pts-syndrome if you pulled the trigger on something and feel down due to this, have a smoke to ease it;)

no, i would feel shitty to if i would pull something out the soil where placed so much hope and effort into, that is pretty normal with someone who grows in non-commercial scales.

I myself need to get started on getting an area set up for cloning. I have pretty much zero experience in cloning so I am a little intimidated, but that is also the key to easy turn-key growing. And you would not have to deal with your plants being male, except when you start a new batch of beans to find a new mother here or there.I got lucky this grow, but I have very limited space for my upcomming indoor and I am trying to figure out if I want to go ahead and clone a good female instead of starting all from seed. ( I have a lot of good seeds I would love to use though..sigh.)

Good luck.

Plant Name : Blue Betsy

This plant was a nice Sativa i forgot what it was i think it was Ak-47 or something, she was 5 ft tall. In my back yard. She was growing all summer and she was starting to sex around this time and the bitch grew balls on me. Sad as fuck i waited collected the seeds and i tried an indoor grow. That puppy would have given me 1 1/2 - 2 ounces off her of some strong shit and she went form Blue Betsy to Bastard Bob.

What a shame

oh damn dude. I felt shitty after 6 weeks to find that 8 out of 11 of mine were dudes.

try wick cloning in perlite/vermiculite. It's cheap and easy.

What i do if i get a male plant and i have no females ill wait till it has mature seeds, collect my seeds. And germ and replant hope they female this time, in the mean time i take my leaf clipping and all the excess stuff and make me some good old hash to smoke until hopefully i get some bud or ill make oil and hit the bakery with some nice cakes

Not really its only used for getting more seeds to try again and for hash and oil oh and breeding. I mean why would u just throw the plant away when u can use it for hash which is good, oil bake foods make u high, breeding (fdd's background field work), and new seeds. i mean if i went to the work of growing it id collect the pollen also atleast so i could use it to pollinate lower branchs on females. what a waste of a great plant

I just pulled my only plant which turned out to be a male. Then I was germinating my last seed (which was a mistake because I had to leave to go on a little vacation) and had no choice but to plant it outside and hope for the best. I just got back and all that is left is the taproot and the shell of the seed. Damn rabbits...

I started out with 4 Jock horror. My two strongest plants ended up being male, the smallest one died. So now I have the middle one being a confirmed female. Time for clones! Although, I felt so sad having to let those guys go, and on top of that I had no bud to relieve my sadness.

You could have made hash and smoked ur troubles away there, i mean common guys dont let ur plants go to waste

yeah males are usually the tallest, and that makes them no fun to kill, they grow that way to better distribute their pollen. after a LOT of time staring at plants you will be able to see the males, while they do tend to grow taller, are more gangly as well, females tend to grow more compact.

it does suck killing males, last year i only had 13 plants outdoors, one plot of 2 females and 1 male, and another plot of 9 males and 1 female!!!! It really sucked, specially considering all the work dragging soil out to the grow site to grow so many useless males. i guess the only thing i could say is, if you don't like killing males grow clones, otherwise be prepared to lose half your crop to penis....

Lol Beaner you must be growing outdoors for a long time cause iunno maybe its just me but my male crops usually have balls, big balls filled with yellowish powder. I never seen any penis on mine. But hey thats just mine
