Watch these and you'll begin to understand why I'm no fan of Republicans OR Democrats.
They're both ducking the problems facing the majority of Americans today.
Saying I should vote for Democrats instead of Republicans is like saying I should vote for piranhas instead of sharks because they won't eat me AS FAST!
These videos are short, sweet and to the point. I welcome discussion about them or other economic points here.
Lol, no1 thread.
Very comprehensive and compelling explanations.
I thought so as well.
Now that we know what the picture looks like, how can we affect the situation to make our country more equitable again?
Will it take another world war? I sure hope not; humanity lost over 60 million in the last one and crude nuclear weapons only made their appearance at the very end. Another might mean the end of the human race.
How about another Great Depression? I think we're headed in that direction. The lessons of the last several economic disasters have gone all but unheeded, and we find ourselves barreling down the slope towards yet another even now. We could certainly hit the brakes and change course, but it would require kicking the banks out of the driver's seat. Popular revolutions have a history of being very messy indeed.
So I'm at a loss. I see another recession coming, it could worsen into a crash very easily. I think the American People should not take it lying down like we did the last one. We must demand that the banks be broken up, the perpetrators be held accountable, that Government work for US, not the criminals and manipulators. We must not be chased off the streets by belligerent law enforcement in order to 'keep the peace'; we must demand the respect of our civil rights and the rule of law over the 'elites'. I'm pessimistic but this is the best of the possible options.
Our future is at stake.
What does Blyth offer as a solution?
The best thing IMO is to collectively sort out the facts and gain a common understanding of the problem. If people aren't informed and don't understand the problem then they won't be able to understand the explanations and arguments. If we can make an honest argument then I believe logic will eventually prevail. We need consensus around a clear and cohesive plan. It's not going to happen overnight.
My post directly above yours outlines some of the necessary actions to take.
I don't believe that merely making honest arguments and hoping logic prevails will be sufficient by itself. Activism and putting forward progressive candidates and then actively supporting them WITH those honest and logical arguments is the road to success, in my opinion.
13 posts in thr thread and 9 of them are your own.
Justice Democrats are SO popular.
Yet another shitty, stupid post- and not even relevant to the thread topic.
Yes I posted a lot, because I have something to say. Do you?
Did you actually watch any of the videos or are you just here to troll?
I'm here to say vote Democrat so we don't give Chump moar power.
Start your own thread. This one about economics.
For those who don't know, the definition of neoliberalism and why it's taking us back to the good old days... Of the 1800's.

This is a very fast paced overview that's mostly focused on Europe, but the implications for the American economy aren't hard to see;
This is the Q&A session after the lecture I just posted above;
