Noobs welcome to pick my brain. Pleather of knowledge to share. Haven't posted a thread in many years. These chinese budget LEDS intrigue me so much. Some of these companies are coming up with really good products. Pictured here are 2 x 1000watt Equiv. JHUANG brand sold on Amazon. So far..... real solid units. Growth is incredible. Clones of the mother in the middle. yes. In the background, Jalapeno peppers to the left, Dino Kale to the back, and oh....a real shitty job at hanging panda tarp. Top Photo shows a sprig of Fennel to the left. The Glow from under the table in pic #1 Is the veg area for about 20 black tomato plants. Garden goes in early this year.

My girlfriend and I went back to check it out and had a good laugh over your comment. The pick does look like some strange wallpaper

Dang Sarg- 1000 watt lights that only pull 100 watts. Sounds amazing. Hoping you are not hawking your wares here. No offense intended, but if you are... please don't. Maybe you got comped the lights for a positive review?

Oh but you did write that with the offense intended, and now you certainly have!
How dare you even speak to me with such ignorance! Moron. Who are you to suggest such bullshit? I've been on this site for 10 fucking years helping people. And this ain't no solicitation. I don't know who you are or what kinda jerking off you had to do to obtain your minimal "Well known member" status, but if I had any Admin privileges I would revoke it and ad you to some ignorant class. Now Get off my thread, take your suggestions and cram it while you hoop your forehead and then plug it with that Big Green Thumb. Fuuuuuuuuuck people like you really irritate me.

On a side note: If i wanted to "Hawk My Wares" here, ..... whatever exactly it is you mean by it, I've certainly earned my right to do so.

To everyone else I apologize that this "Big Green Thumb" wandered into this thread and had to be the victim of this rare and negative rant , but I simply have no tolerance anymore for these passive aggressive ignorant types. Clearly that Thumb belongs up his ass.

I have some Blurple LEDS very similar looking to these from Amazon as well, they were only 300 watt but super bright. I'm thinking about breaking them back out again for some side lighting. I've also want to add some UV t8 bulbs during flower a couple days a week to see if it is true that it adds to the trichome production.

Smoke a bowl and calm down, Sarg.

I checked your thread expecting to see a huge grow, with 2400 watts and all, and I see a very small grow with someone proclaiming the greatness of the world's crappiest lights. If you have been on here for 10 fucking years then I am sure you have seen people trying to promote their brand of gear without paying RIU for the priveledge to do so, by raving about how great it is. Even if you have been here 10 fucking years, that would not give you the right to hawk your wares (which means "sell or promote your product"). Hopefully you can see where I was coming from. I searched amazon while checking your thread and found Juhang 1200w lights that claim to draw 110-120 watts, which appears to be a real piece of shit. So when someone is proclaiming their greatness, forgive me for being a little skeptical.

Full disclosure: did you buy those lights or were they gifted/sponsored/comped to you? "Growth is incredible" compared to what?

Let me help you to insult me: Yes, you have been on RIU longer than I have. I would expect you have grown and smoked a lot more weed than I have. You are a better grower than me. You may be older and wiser than me, but I am no spring chicken. It seems that you try to help people with your knowledge (which is great), and I try to do the same (including trying to save newbs from misinformation), which is how we both got "Well-Known Member" status - by getting Likes. i.e., people appreciate what we bring to the forum. You can search my threads to see my grows, my lights, my whatever and you can probably find things in them to insult me. Go ahead.

Oh, by the way, my last grow I also had a pepper plant in the tent. A ghost pepper plant that will kick your jalapenos ass! HAHA

I am fine with putting this behind us if this thread is not a commercial for those lights. If it is then I say it again, "Please don't"

Full disclosure> I bought the lights. now screw off Green Horn. And your peppers comment, totally uncalled for. You don't see the flat of habanero, reaper, and ghost peppers I have cuz I couldn't fit them in my "very small grow."

Why can't people just get along, let's see what you can do with those lights. I've seen some bad lights grow some good weed.

I've also want to add some UV t8 bulbs during flower a couple days a week to see if it is true that it adds to the trichome production.
For everyone else.....Im aware these lights are inexpensive, but so far they do not exhibit "cheapness" in their make. And a 1000W equivalent claim on these is high. And I myself don't believe it. HOWEVER....give me half that for the price and I'm still in. I don't like to blow huge money on lights when its not necessary. And I'm only here to show what can be done on a budget and simple methods. LED's are simple, and dont cause too many heat problems for the beginner.

I will be getting my amp meter out and posting actual pics of their draw for who ever is interested in that.

This weeks updated pics. You see me holding a clone next to a bigger one. they are almost 2 weeks apart. The bigger one was the same as the smaller one approx 10-12 days ago under these lights. And then some 20 black tomato plants under some CFLs. underneath the table.

I certainly don't know enough to really comment, but tbh those lights look just like some crappy knock offs that I got as well (And after learning much more about LED's and lighting in general).

I'm guessing Big Green is probably right on point saying he was expecting a 2400 watt grow, but this unfortunately, does not seem to be that. These 'chinese' knock offs definetely aren't running 1000 watts. I ran one of mine just like your 1000 watt, and it pulled like 130 max from the wall using my Kill a Watt meter. So I think all Big Green is trying to say (maybe a bit harsh) is that these lights certainly will not measure up to a real 1000 watt HPS or a really high quality LED, thats all ;).

Definitely going to watch this though and see what you can do, as I am very interested to see a really good grow from lights like these. Good luck sir. bongsmilie

I am happy watching along and want to see the outcome -- in a positive way -- and hopefully learn something. I apologize to Sarg, but it just felt like a shady promotion for the lights, and Sarg has now said he paid for them, so that's the end of bad blood hopefully. My pepper plant comment was purely in jest but you seem to have been beyond comedy at that moment. I'd have a Carolina Reaper growing if I had the ambition to find seeds. I actually gifted that ghost plant to my local hydro shop since it got way to big to keep in my tent and I had it in coco so it would not have been an easy plant to just keep and grow outside.

My first grow light was a Viparspectra "450 watt" that pulled 192 watts at the wall and I grew with it in a 2x3 cabinet until I built a water cooled cob light. I was happy with the Vipar until I outgrew it. Anyways, enough about the light and get growing!

Tonight I custom a plug to run my amp clamp on it. I'm super curious on the draw. Growth on the clones seems close to optimal. I'm anxious to get my vegetables outta there and into the outside garden so I can flip the switch to 12/12. Its been a while since I finished anything indoors. Wouldn't mind an early summer harvest while I wait for the outdoor girls to yield.

I've been using these Sonoff smart outlets for my tent lighting to see power usage and timer:
https://www.amazon.com/Sonoff-Monitoring-Assistant-Supporting-Required/dp/B078N7DX9C/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=lamps-light&ie=UTF8&qid=1522290074&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=sonoff&psc=1

For $18 each, they are great. They are are configured using your smart phone. You can program to turn on and off at specified times and they show real time wattage/amps/volts. I am also using one on an ethereum mining rig so I can shut it down and restart it remotely if the miner crashes.

Damn, now I sound like a commercial! NO, I am not selling these! LOL!!! I have no vested interest in them, just trying to help people out. There is a thread on here somewhere about Sonoff devices, which is where I learned of them.

Those actually look pretty dope thumb. Where do they show the power usage tho? On an external app or something?

edit - After re-reading, i'm assuming they show the power thru your phone correct?

Correct. They also have wire in modules for turning power on and off, and I am running their humidity/temperature monitor that auto matically turn on a my filter/fan when humidity reaches 60%. Pretty sweet. People are hacking them so they can be controlled by other apps and programs but I am happy with their app. Pretty slick.
