I'm pretty happy, been growing vegetables for a couple years.

Worked beyond expectations. When I started growing skunk.

I use the Master Blend with
Calcium Nitrate
Epsom Salts

I used to use Hydro Grdens 4-20-38-Calcium Nitrate-Epsom salts, but they went out of business, after 60 years, because of supply chain issues.

Hydro-Gardens started making Plant Specific Fertilizers, in the 80s. 4-20-39, was weed soecific.

The Master Blend, is as close as it gets to the Hydro Gardens formula. Hydro Gardens also made a Tomato formula, and it was the exact same as the Master Blend. And you want to add Calcium Nitrate to the base formula. And I dont change anything when they are flipped, other than slightly increasing the feeding. No switching to some kind of Flowering formula. Which, IMHO, is a marketing ripoff.

Say an 8 weeks flowering strain, I would increase PPM, up until the 6th week, and then cut back 25%, in week 7, and another 25%, in week 8. Flushing, is a myth.

Im also not averse to adding a bit of MPK in weeks 2.5-4, and boosting the Epsom Salts, in weeks 5-6. Cut out MPK, after week 4. Epsom Salts/Magnesium Sulfate has a good supply of Sulfur, which has been found to increase Terpenes.

I start feeding Seedlings at 10% dose, and slowly increase until about 50%. And I feed, every watering. I hand water, and use Promix BX.

I also start seedlings under 1000w HID, at 20in-24in. Hortilux Blue is 20in. Hortilux HPS, is 24in.

If it's okay. I call you Jimi.
Thank you very much for replying.

Masterblend 4-18-38 has worked great for my dwc vegetables. I use the whole kit Calcium nitrate and magnesium sulfate.

So I thought why not. Un believable, my first grow.
47 days in.
I flipped the lights 3 days ago.

I called Masterblend headquarters. Talked to a lady named Chris.
She informed me that when it it flower time. To Switch to 20240229_094027.jpgMasterblend 10-30-20 Blossom Bloomer and don't add anything.
So far she is right.
I was scared, I never used it before.
She said all the way through flower. When you flip, start the 10-30-20, it promotes faster flowering.

I need help understanding c02 if I don't use it for my first grow.

I just tucked a couple plants, but here is today's pic. 20240303_191914.jpg20240303_191840.jpg20240301_092530.jpg

Not many people know about Masterblend. They only deal with the big boys. They have all the individual ingredients, and custom blend it for there vendors. I found one place in New York. I bought two 25 pound bags.
Don't buy from Canada, they rape you on shipping. I bought 50 lbs plus shipping cheaper than I got 10 pounds out of Canada.
I have a business, I may call and see about 500 lbs. With Calcium. And distribute it.

Weed, can survive all kinds of different NPK Ratios, and seemingly be healthy.

I myself, wouldnt change fertilizers. Makes no sense to cut Nitrogen, when the plants are going to grow more, and produce more hormones, than at anytime, in their lives.
Would a Bodybuilder, who is trying to gain mass, cut protein??? The main thing, is the Ratio.

All Nitrogen is to a Plant, is Protein. Human Beings/Animals ect, eat the flesh, plant ect, and our bodies turn it into Nitrogen/Amino Acids.

Hydro-Gardens, who like I said, had been in business since the 60s, and were one of the first, too make plant specific fertilizers, did not recommend changing fertilizers, at flowering, and as a matter of fact, their feeding schedule, increased every nutrient up until 2 weeks, before chopping. And gave MPK boost in weeks 3-4, and Epsom Salts Boost, in weeks 5-6, all the while, increasing NPK. Not much, but a small increase, of EVERYTHING.

Masterblend has never let me down. If this is what they recommend, I do what the their team tells me.
Like I said, they don't mess with us small grows.
The growers they deal with are so big, the don't buy blended. They test individual elements and only add what is needed. They don't do water changes.
I was fortunate enough to find them two years ago.
I grow vegetables, a different beast.

I decrease calcium nitrate and increase magnesium sulfate at different times.
Once they flower, I don't want then to grow. I want them to produce fruit. Just saying.

Its gonna take me a minute to understand how these ratios work. Something with 5-1-1 can cause nute burn, people use 10-10-10 without fail, .but people can use high double digit NPK's without burn?!!?!

Outside I use Granular-19-19-19- Potassium Sulfate=0-0-52. Calcitic, and Dolomitic Lime. 2/3 parts Calcitic to 1/3 Parts Dolomite.
I top dress every 6 weeks.

Where in NY? Long Island by chance???

Progressive Grower has a location in Islandia, I use the one in Wareham, MA all the time and they rock.
I call ahead and they build the pallet. Then I pay cash and they drop it on my truck.

Soluble - Progressive Grower
Oh damn nice, thanks!!! I bought my masterblend trio on amazon. But this is good for when i reorder. I called LI Hydro in Islandia last week. They said they never heard of Masterblend and suggested advanced nutes ‍♂
