How many people here know who Mathew Shepard is? I bet its a lot. For those who don't he was a gay man who was murdered in 1998 because he was gay. The murder made national headlines and everyone in America knew who he was and what had happened.
Who knows who Noor Faleh Almaleki is? I bet few if anyone here knows the answer to this question. Noor Faleh Almaleki was a 20 year old girl who died after having been run over by her father last month in an honor killing.
Below is a tiny article about this occurrence from CNN. Notice that nowhere in the article is there any discussion of honor killings among Muslim families. Notice that the word "Muslim" never even appears in the article.
Why is it that when a gay man is murdered by some maniacs it is front page news in every major newspaper, but when a young girl in Arizona is murdered by her own father it barely gets any coverage?
Could it be because the Left which controls most of the media save for Fox and talk radio has an agenda?
We know that the Left desires to do two things. A) To demonstrate that violence against Gays is a huge issue and B) to downplay anything that makes Muslims look bad.
After all, the Left believes that all Muslim anger is a result of oppressive US policies and that the threat from radical Islam is a product of Right wing hysteria.
What do you suppose would have been the reaction of the Left wing media had this incident been a Christian man who killed his daughter for not being Christian enough? I guarantee this would be front page news on every newspaper in America and that it would dominate the airwaves for months.
No reasonable person can ignore the main stream media's failure to adequately cover this story, and many stories like it. No reasonable person can look at this objectively and not see the bias of these media outlets.
This is why I listen to talk radio.
