Medical marijuana dispensary opens in Weidman

A new medical marijuana dispensary has opened up in Weidman.

AAA Growers Supply, located at 3334 Woodruff, is all about compassion and patient care.

“We want to provide safe access to medical marijuana patients in Michigan,” Co-owner Elijah Lake said.

Lake was diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease when he was 13 years old.

Doctors gave him every heartburn pill there was, including prescription strength. The only thing that made his stomach feel better was marijuana, he said.

“I had a stomach surgery about three years ago,” Lake said. “For me,eating the edibles helps me more than smoking. For some reason it settles my stomach.”

Lake though that if marijuana can help his chronic problem, then it was his duty to share it with other people who suffer from pain or other problems.

He partnered with Mike Gyger and AAA Growers Supply opened up for business on Jan. 1.

AAA Growers supply offers more than just cannibis. The business offers a number of edible items that contain all the same active chemicals, THC, CDB, CBN.

“We sell cookies, caramels, brownies, suckers, muffins, cheesecakes, and peanut butter,” Lake said. “We are also working on making an alfredo sauce and salad dressing.”

For the older customers who don’t want to smoke or eat the marijuana, Lake and Gyger are working on getting a shea butter lotion that patients can rub on the parts of their bodies that hurt, Lake said.

AAA Growers supply is all about variety, Lake said.

There are currently eight different strands of marijuana available and the owners are looking to get a lot more. Gyger and Lake are also willing to take customer’s suggestions about what works best for them and what the store should carry.

“We want to provide patients the meds they like,” Lake said. “Or that help them.”

AAA Growers Supply is not just a place that sells medical marijuana. The business also sells organic farming equipment.

Lake and Gyger also grow organic food like radishes and spinach.

No membership is needed to enter store. All a person needs is a medical marijuana card. There are no membership fees and no sales tax on the marijuana products.

“There has never been a tax code written in Michigan state law to tax medical marijuana,” Lake said. “So we don’t. We are here to give back to the community as much as possible.”
