Mega garden: 5.5'' pots transferred to flood table.

I have 3 mega gardens and my idea was to use them for veg and transfer to a bigger flood table for flower. My question is: How would I transplant into bigger pots or would it be necessary? I like the idea of being able to stack these mega gardens on a storage rack... I filled the entire bottom of my flood table with hydroton for support and increase root mass. It was not bad, I really think that the roots were able to spread more easily w/o drying out. I am looking for some good ideas! Thanks. Compact veg room is goal. I start my seeds in soil and will always have a small section for soil.
