Melon Gum - Dr Underground. Clones to flower !!!

Hi guys,

I am going to compile a series of photos of my Melon Gum clones as they develop into flower.

I have several Mums and have picked out some really nice cuttings from them. I will work with 15 clones and veg them to at least 20 cm before switching the lights. They are quite Sativa hybrid so I need to be careful that they don't get too tall in veg.

I will be working in Canna Soil with 600W HPS.

Flower time 50 - 57 days.

Melon Gum is a very fruity weed, a hybrid of (Soma Seeds) Lavender and Bubble Gum (Serious Seeds). Developed here in Spain and has proved to be a firm favourite.

I planted out most of the clones last night into 10cm pots with Canna Seedmix, underlayered with Canna Soil. 1/4 strength Rhizotonic and PH 6.2. back under fluorescents later, before Lumatek digital ballast at 250W in a few days time.....

I will add pics later of the Mums, clones and transplants.

Happy reading !!!

I re-potted them into 10cm pots with Canna Soil underneath and Canna Seedmix on the top. I have RO water which is too soft EC 0.0 so I added a bit of tap water to bring it it to EC 0.2 before adding 1/4 strength Canna Rhizotonic. Ph 6.2 for now. I left them recover from the transplant and they are now under cool/warm 55w x 2 Fluorescentes.

Hi guys,

Here are a few pictures of the clones. They are pointing towards the light and seem quite happy.

I feel like I'm writing to myself here. I hope this thread will be of interest to someone. Maybe the strain is too unusual. Could do a Cheese thread instead.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

Here's another update of the clones. It's time to start vegging a bit now. I think they have grown a lot in 3 days (since last pics)

They're growing very fast and have already hit 12 cms. I've moved them to another room and put them under 250W HPS. I will need to spread them out soon as they are touching eachother. (?)

I still feel like I'm writing to myself here so if anyone would like to follow this pls let me know otherwise I will just add pics in a few weeks.

I've got a lot going on at the mo so I'm quite busy. Maybe if I chose a more well known strain????

It's a big Russian rabbit fur hat. I never get to wear it as it's too warm here, even in Winter so I keep it for special occasions such as playing dress-up with my girls !!

Right, I'm getting ready to transplant either tonight or 2mw night. They've been under the 250W HPS for couple of days and have started bushing out nicely.

They've hit 17 cms now and I'm going to put them in 5.5L pots. I'll then wait a day or so on dim light b4 putting them under full light and ramping up my digital ballast to 400W. I'll raise the lights initially nd then lower them as they look stronger.

At around 25 cms (max) I will put them into the flowering room on 12:12. This should happen in less than a week.

Any more veg than this and they will be too tall. I have done some minor pruning on the lower nodes.

I have decided to switch back to Hesi as I find it more simple and less complicating.

I've been smoking Melon Gum and it has the nicest Sativa high yet creeps up on u a bit too. Very fruity and a nice and fast flowering time at 7.5 weeks.

I'll post some updated pics later and of the transplants.

I keep my low light to just mm's from the canopy... they look good just a little stretchy

I put half Canna soil in the pot (includes perlite) and Canna Seedmix at the top. The Mums were under HPS for a bit so they grew very quickly. Cut down since and re-potted.

Must transplant clones 2mw, the pots were a bit heavy/wet.

Hi there !!!

I've transplanted them today into 5 L pots with Canna soil. I used Canna Rhizotonic 1/2 strength with RO mix tap water (EC 0.2). PH 6.3

I still have couple to re-pot but most are done as u can see. I'm a big fan of over-watering so I am expecting it will be a good few days b4 I go near them.

Patience is key - of which I have none !!!

They are going to stay on the perimeter of the light tonight and then get moved tomorrow.

I want to put them into flower ASAP but will hold out till 25 cms. They have already developed some lovely nodes and are taking good form.
