Who pooped on his legacy? he can rap, he just cant sing

im poopin on kid rocks "legacy" thats for sure. give it another 10 years "Who the fuck is kid rock?!?"
LOL, i'm not trying to kick around the terd pile. Just saying that eminem made some hot songs and really, I don't know why kid rock got brought into an eminem thread, their styles are completely different LOL. I'm sure Kid is pretty awesome to people that enjoy his rock/rap style thing, but I personally don't enjoy the musical hybrid. It would be like Metallica and Wu Tang getting mixed together, I don't know what the fuck would happen LOL

Well, at least Kid Rock can play an instrument, write music and lyrics, and is a pretty kick ass DJ. The hip hop awards didn't invite him to be guest DJ because he is a hack.

Plus Kid Rock smartened up and got out of the hip hop business. You know, hip hop, that bullshit realm in the music world where you get by with a lack of talent due to the fact your fans don't like real music that actually REQUIRES talent (like rock, jazz, blues, etc.) The world of thugs and wanna-be thugs who think being a lyricist is the answer to life.

A fucking joke. And I am NO Kid Rock fan. I am realistic.
LOL.

Corbat summed it up.

MMmmnn... I'm going to have to go with this one. I'm not so sure about the singing attempts and newer material but some of the greatest and most memorable rap songs ever have been contributed by Eminem. The guy is a great storyteller. I love hearing his mashups with Tupac because their flows were so compatible in tone, delivery and meter. But yeah, commercialization ruins everything.

I get what people are saying about every 'wannabe thug' thinking he can rap like every kid trying to release an emo poetry anthology as an album.

As for rap/rock... You are going to hate me for this. I LIKE LINKIN PARK.

And the Beastie Boys... And Incubus...

Well, he was not afraid to take the rise out of himself... Some of his songs were indeed hilarious. Mockingbird, Toy Soldiers, Lose Yourself... all modern rap anthems. Also nice use of sampling from Martika, bringing in a new audience.

Linkin Park are not ULTIMATE HARDCORE, no do they or their fans purport them to be. They just have a few enjoyable songs. I like bands without feeling they epitomize the genre, just if I enjoy a track I can give them credit where I think it's due. Breaking the Habit, Crawling, Numb(with Jay Z...), Shadow of the Day, Faint, In The End (remix). Melodramatic lyrics; laughable at times, but good tracks all the same to me.

Hey, Incubus doesn't rap at all. heh. I <3 Incubus. Popular or not, they are an amazing band, especially on shrooms. Also, Linkin Park is a talented group of music nerds for sure. I almost never listen to them, but I have a lot of respect for them.

Beastie Boys I will leave, honestly ;)

LOL. You just lost all credibility in my book, too. So that works. Who wants credibility from people with such obviously juxtaposing tastes? My opinion shouldn't matter to you and vice versa, because of those differences. Who cares?

FYI, on Incubus, go back to the SCIENCE days and earlier if you're so anti-pop... their early stuff was much more credible from a music snob point of view...

A few good tracks in there Kuroi, kudos. This is my favorite though... best George W. Bush commentary ever.

Yeah well, I didn't mean literally, just I like how he makes fun of Bush, lol.

I want to like this Jedi Mind Tricks stuff becauase of the awesome name, but it just seems so predictably egocentric and ghetto... personally, I like weird rap that pushes boundaries, like Das Racist:

But I could understand if you don't dig it... it really is a whole different monster.

Also really dig the modern speed rap scene, like Mac Lethal...

I'd rather listen to Mac Lethal all day long than listen to Eminem, honestly. Em's got his moments, and I can dig it when I'm really angry, LOL. But mostly I dig this light-hearted approach to rap like these last couple vids.
