What's up growers. My first real grow and my first posting on the fourms. I've been reading about growing for a long time, learning and waiting till I got the chance to try. I started with 4 seeds I found in pretty nice bags. 3 of the 4 germinated using the paper towel method. I planted them each in 5" pots with regular potting soil and put them in small cfl grow box. It was a long cold spring but they finally got outside the first week of June. I planted them in the ground, mostly clay with 5" topsoil mixed in some Milorganite, a 5-2-0 organic granular fertilizer. I watered them with water every other day the first week. Next few weeks I watered them with pond water a couple times and regular water. The two smaller of the plants sexed pretty early around mid July so I yanked them. The big one showed her sexy parts the next week. She kept growing but I didn't get to water or feed her as much as I should have. Only problem was the leaf hoppers they loved how she smelled so I sprayed her with neem seed oil, that worked to get them a bit, but that stuff smells like shit so I didn't want to spray her too much and ruin the buds. I also got my hands on some fish emulsion so I fed her that mixed with some seaweed extract and water. As it got later in the summer her small clearing started to get more shady so she didn't grow as much but her flowers still looked nice. I bought a loupe a couple weeks ago to check her trichomes. Last week they were still mostly clear and the plant smelled slightly musky and powerful. Amazingly it still hasn't frosted yet the weather is holding up nicely. Yesterday it rained all day and I checked the trichs again they are all real cloudy, not any ambers yet, the hairs are turning red. So I know they are all real close but I've got a forecast of 3 more days of sun/clouds high 60 low 40s at night. My plan is to harvest Monday or Tuesday. Pics done MacGyver style with 20x loupe for trich shot, magnifying lens for bud shot and regular cellphone lens for the others. Also what are your thoughts on strain (note: its been topped)
