MMJ and Drug Testing Protection in Arizona

I live in Colorado and a MMJ grower, but I do love how Arizona has the best employment safeguard in concerning drug testing MMJ people. It's about time some MMJ state had an employment protection barrier in place for MMJ users.

I've always believed what a person puts into their body at home is of no business to their employer or potential employer, NONE. Though Arizona's MMJ law isn't perfect the best thing about it in my opinion is the employer not being able to turn down someone who tests positive during a pre-employment drug test. From the article I'll link to at the end>

"What happens if a legal user of marijuana fails a company’s drug test when applying for a job? - The new law bars employers from discriminating against medical-marijuana users; but, employment attorneys say, it does allow employers to terminate or take action against employees who use medical marijuana on the job or whose work is impaired by the drug."

But also another thing to make note of (The discrimination rule also has an exception. Because marijuana is illegal under federal law, this gives companies with federal contracts an “out,” allowing them to avoid employing medical-marijuana users so they don’t risk losing contracts or funding.)

I could figure employers having an "OUT" that have Federal contracts, but at least it's a start for getting on with other private sector business companies. I still wouldn't test the MMJ law with my job by coming into work to start my shift with blood shot eyes and clothes wreaking of skunk.I'd put my use on hold until I got home after work and wouldn't even talk about MMJ at all with anyone at work.

Hopefully other MMJ states will pick up on this. Just because a person is MMJ qualified shouldn't mean they are disqualified from employment.

Yeah that's the best part of the bill no doubt.

The rest of it sucks though.

I mean hey you can keep going through the 'normal' channels though, and just try not to get caught like usual. Pissing in a cup is by far the EASIEST way to get caught as it stays in there for a month + for an every day user... so yeah the fact that you can piss your piss in a cup, and work WHATEVER job you want is great. I know that's been a deal breaker for a lot of jobs for a lot of people.
