MMPR = no privacy for patients

So this is how the story goes...
The Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons want the government to force the Licensed Producers to hand over the "medical documents". They are also going to get Health Canada to hand over the MMAR files.
The reason?...The Colleges want to gather information about who "prescribes" pot, how much, and how often. They also want to know who smokes it and how much they smoke. They want this information so they will be better able to guide their physicians.
Guide their physicians?
This coming from the same group that tells their doctors, in a round about way, to stay the fuck away from marijuana. This coming from a group that is pro Big Pharma.

So...you thought this MMPR wasn't so bad. Get a medical document from a doctor, sign up with an LP, be legal, and keep your privacy intact.
Well, you won't have any privacy any more. How many people at the Colleges will have our information?

It's very very interesting to note why Health Canada doesn't gather the information and hand it over to the Colleges.

Why don't the Colleges just make the doctors hand in a copy of the document when they write one up?

I wonder how the doctors who participated in the MMAR program are feeling?...did you just shit your pants?

Time to get a lawyer onto this pile of privacy breaching bullshit!

Who the fuck does the Colleges think they are?

Three words. Doctor Patient Confidentiality. That is one of the strongest binding rights we have. I can see anyone from this date forward being made aware of this in some type of clause when they sign up. But there's no way they're gonna get that to pass retroactively to get patient info from those who have been signed up thus far. That part is laughable really, almost as laughable as the people who wanted HC to release the location of all the licensed grow ops under the old program using the guise of keeping the neighborhoods safer.

Imagine this...
The College is reviewing all the information provided by the LPs;
Hmmm... Mr Smith here hasn't been ordering that much "medicine" from Oct-Dec, well he is obviously getting better and doesn't need 5g/d, we better tell them to reduce it to 1g/d.
Hmmm....Mrs White here has epilepsy and we think she is ordering the wrong strain, She should really be on a zero THC strain, let's get her on the right track.
Hmmm....Dr. Jones has written 5 "prescriptions" this month. Well that's more than the average, let's investigate Dr. Jones, better review the patients too.
Hmmm....This patient was licensed under the MMAR for 6g/d and isn't ordering from any LP, we better alert the authorities because that patient is probably getting it from the Black Market.
Hmmm....

What a crock of shit. I think I might send an email to HC advising them that they don't have my authorization to release my medical info to anyone.Period. God I don't like the head of the CoPS!
I just sent HC an email saying that very thing. We need to find someone smart enough to gather info (dirt) on HC employees and share that. If my privacy means nothing to them, theirs means even less to me!

I agree but, as we all know HC breaks the rules all the time. They don't seem to care. The courts step in and put them back in their place, and then they do it again and again...
I just don't trust the bastards.
For example before the "outing mail accident", nobody here would think HC would pull a stunt like that, they did. I don't think they give a shit about being sued or violating our rights.

I do like the attitude of standing up to them and saying enough is enough!
How about we all let our Colleges know how we feel...

I don't think the Colleges will give a hoot! And I DO thinks that HC will proceed and share our info whenever they choose. I would not be surprised if the "outing" incident was intentional!

And let's not forget the "we'll turn you into authorities if we're not satisfied with the destruction of your medicine" bullshit. I agree with leaf....they will do what they want when they want and deal with the consequences later. How many times have we been to court? The SC even? Christ it's pathetic the resources this government wastes in the name of their ideals. They are an antiquated bunch of old fucks that need to be treated as they treat others.

Hey leaf....I wonder where the CoPS will get their information to base their decisions on since there really isn't much out there for them to support it right?? Fuckin cocksuckers will use what they need to satisfy themselves. Someone is driving the bus...and it isn't the healthcare system.

Sorry for rant...I just really do not like Harptler or his sheep.

all this talk and no court filings yet. When are the docs, patients, and lp's gonna take hc and the colleges to court?

There are over 200 individual filings in Canada. I would not expect to see too many doctors or LP's suing HC. Maybe rejected applicants, but not anyone that has a license.

Oh no? so when the pot clinics get set up like the one in london and the one in toronto in july and the colleges threaten to take away their license, what do you think the docs will do? just lay down and take it?
