Modifying LED build

Hello all,

I recently built a COB light using Cree cxb 3070 3000k cobs.

Specs:
3 x cxb3070
Meanwell HLG-185H-1400B
heatsink
currently passive cooling, but I will add a fan if I install a new cob

As far as I understand, I can add another 36v cob to this setup. The light works well, but I'd like to add another higher color temperature COB for more light and a more balanced spectrum. My space is 2'x2'.


So my questions are:


What color temperature COB would you all recommend? I'm thinking 5000k

Brands? I'm thinking of going cheap as I've already spent quite a bit on this build--does the citizen clu048-1212 work?

Anything else I should know?


Any advice is appreciated

I'd add another 3000K. I built CXB3590 bars with two 50W 3000K and a 25W 5000K in the middle. The blue-ish COB shining on the meristem of a plant would discourage stretching, I thought--but this is not the case in reality. The stretchy phenos still stretch out.

Thanks for the advice. Interesting that it didn't seem to affect stretch. Do you think there was enough blue light in that setup to discourage vert growth? I guess genes do what they're programmed to do after all

One of my bars has three 50W COBs, the center being 2700K instead of 5000K (at 25W). This is the third run from seed and no extra stretching under the warmer spectrum.

Definitely. Artificial Sun Specialty has COBs. 36 volt. Add up the voltage. That driver works perfect with 4 36V! Been using those setups for years!
