Molasses

So ~I used molasses as a nutrient for the first time today. I'm currently just starting my 3rd week of flowering. Have done some research on using it and would like to check I did it right with the more experienced members of this forum.

1 bought Blackstrap molasses (unsulphured)
2 mixed 1 teaspoon into a mug of hot water until completely disolved.
3 mixed contents of mug into 1.1 liters of room temp RO water.
4 make sure mixture is correct temp
4 shake a bit
5 add 300ml of 'molasses mixture' onto plant then add normal RO water to top off.
6 repeat when it is next time for watering but not feeding.

So my nute schedule is now

1 Maxibloom 1 teaspoon mixed with 1 gallon of water.

2 Molasses 1 teaspoon mixed with 1 gallon of water

3 return to step 1

What do you think? Am I doing it right? This is my first grow so have no frame of reference.

Molasses has a very low mineral content as compared to true fertilizers which is why molasses is mainly used for feeding the micro herd in your dirt. Since you're using Maxibloom, I doubt you're in organic soil so while a shot of molasses every few weeks could be beneficial to some extent, it's really not going to make much of a difference when used 'correctly'.

This being your first grow, I'd cut out all the variables and concentrate on learning how to use maxibloom.

I do have some soil in my mix but it is mainly coco coir/chips. There are some mild nutes in one of the soils I use in my mix. Only put 20% in tho.
With the maxibloom I just follow what they say on a thread about the KISS method in terms of how to mix and how much to use/how often to use it.
Right now I'm trying a bunch of new things at the same time eg LSTing, supercropping, using molasses, pruning. The maxibloom seems to be really working. The plants really like it and are positively thriving at the moment. Hope the molasses is not too much love is all I'm worried about.
Had a big problem with over nuting a couple of my plants. Almost killed one of them in particular but the other was pretty crispy too. One of them is seriously stunted and yield will be way down from what it could be. Just afraid of doing the same thing again except in flower it could be a real disaster. So I'm really paranoid about trying new things but almost everything I try is new at the moment!

Really getting a lot of satisfaction from the process so far though and feel like this appreciation will only grow over time!
